One episode and a bit into Ripley and the casting of Freddie Miles has put me right off. The black and white noir cinematography worked really well in the NYC scenes but really want to see some blue skies and sea in Italy!

Not half. I've seen it all now - people admitting they are wrong rather than doubling down just doesn't seem right.

I'd love to have seen the gate receipts vs attendance at Casement back in the day. The gatemen used let half of West Belfast in on a nod and a wink.

No way! Of course remember you both - are you the first gaaboard wedding?

Quote from: RedHand88 on March 27, 2024, 03:32:51 PMDune part two is an absolute masterpiece in film making. Loved it so much I saw it twice.
Watched it on Monday. Absolutely class.
Does it matter if I haven't watched the first Dune film or read the book,to enjoy Dune 2?
It's on Netflix or other alternatives. I'd watch it before looking at 2 as it does provide the background.

Quote from: bennydorano on April 01, 2024, 11:46:55 PMWatched a great Australian horror film called Talk to Me, really good for that type of film. I'll give it a year or 2 b4 it gets a Hollywood remake.
Is that the one with the hand? Great movie. I'm not a massive fan of horrors but watched this at Halloween and really enjoyed it.

Quote from: Blowitupref on March 30, 2024, 02:40:36 PMWas looking like a good away win for West ham this afternoon when 3-1 ahead 77 minutes played yet Newcastle came back to win 4-3.
They can thank VAR and the ref for a decent portion of that win. Gordon is a cheating rat and the ref was lapping up.

I think her husband is getting a new gig with the DE. Although 6 members of the board voted against his going by the report.
He's got the Interim Head of EA post. People will be keeping a tight eye on where the money is being spent.

Quote from: lurganblue on March 29, 2024, 04:59:01 PMRoadhouse. I've never seen the original so I lack nostalgia. This is about a 3/10. But every scene with mcgregor lowers the score. Hopefully that is his 1st and last film.

The original, I think, is very good. I don't know whose idea it was to put Conor mcgregor in this but it was a very bad one. The guy is a muppet.
It wasn't really a stretch for him. "Okay Connor in this scene I need you to act liked a swaggering coked up moron."

Imagine seeing these titles bestowed, career elevation through to the leader of the DUP, all this happening through the eyes of his victims. The world can be a very cruel place at times
He would have been earmarked for a cushy wee number in the Lords to see out his days.

Quote from: Armagh18 on March 28, 2024, 10:45:28 AMGlobal warming my hole, cold wet and miserable March.

The spuds will be poor this year again.

We've just stumped out quite a load of £££ to redrain our pitch and the lad doing it struggled to get on it due to the rain, he's most of the main drains in, just needs to come back and finish the sand slitting over the top dressing once it's knitted a bit better.

Never been so persistently wet this winter that I can remember...

Send him round to do my garden when he's finished.

Snow here now!

I used Uber in Belfast last weekend and had no bother as it was a Sunday so no idea what their service is like on a Saturday night when the city is packed. I think the taxi service lost loads of drivers over Covid and many didn't return.
