France have been crap for 3 years now.

...and where are those who said we should have been there instead?  Just imagine how embarrassing it would have been.
Are you afraid of embarrassment or failure?  That's a loser's psychology, a fear of failure.

We might not bring any consistent level of top class football to any Final's stage but each time the team have gone they have done their honest best and there is no reason to believe that this WC would have been any different. The World Cup is where you want your best players to turn it on and the team to give their all.
Weren't able to beat a consistently poor France side therefore they didn't qualify. Get over it lads.

The RTE panel were drowning themselves in the in the shallow end, grasping for the underlying psychological reasons to support their pet theory, that the French players did not want to perform for their country and laying much of the fault on Domenech etc.  Dunphy (ever the master of the self contradiction) made the bizarre claim that all the Irish players went out to play for their country and perform as best they could, no matter who the manager was.
You don't say, Eamon.
Including the English and Scottish Irish players.

Minder could tell you about the dodgy sandwich blamed for making him boke on the bus on the way to a match down the Ards peninsula. The dozen pints the previous night played no part in his condition :)

See a French man called Enahs Llieno from Yvanelg has a complaint in today on his own behalf and on that of nineteen other members of his family who appear to be currently boycotting the paper.

Saw that one... it was quite funny. Take a bow Enahs... good of Heaney to explain it for us like we wouldn't figured it out  ::)
Where is the bollix? Was it him sent the letter in or someone assuming his name?

I thought that the player was technically onside but only technically. France were unlucky, most linesmen would have given that as offside.
It was marginal either way. France weren't unlucky, they were just push and showed zero ambition. The best team won. Although they're not out of it, if they continue in the same vein they're fucked.

Rooney-esque dive. Good performance by Mexico. One of the best so far.

It's the end for Domenech.

Here's Willie Frazer giving his opinion. Enjoy

Just seeing this now. The man is living in his own planet if he can't see the truth now. But sure, what do you expect from the Crossmaglen stalker?

Some of the bile he is spouting is vile... funny thing is he doesn;t strike me as having any sort of thought process or rebuttal to the report in that video... he seems quite stupid actually
just watched that as well, unreal stuff.
i know what you mean celtman, he doesnt come across as the smartest of cookies  :-X
In other news, it has been reported that the Pope was seen wearing a funny hat.

Wullie is certifiable.

That goal before half time has given S. Korea something to play for. They're putting the Argies under a bit of pressure now.

Higuain has been muck so far. From all I have seen Milito is a lot better. Any Higuain fans out there?
:)

Tevez and Messi are keeping the Koreans on their toes.

Annoyance at the vuvuzela annoys me more than the vuvuzelas. Can't wait to see them in Clones though I believe we've had our own version of these for some years now anyway.
Air horns are a blight too but there isn't the constant drone from them. I was reading something on the BBC website the other day and some sound engineer was saying the reason they are so intrusive is that the pitch and tone is very similar to that of the spoken voice which means it is hard to hear commentary or crowd reaction.

In fairness I saw Davids earlier this year doing Champions League games, possibly with ITV  and he was very insightful. He was able to say quite clearly what the teams were doing tactically, it stuck in my mind because Andy Townsend was sitting next to him and had a look on his face as if Davids was discussing quantam physics.
It's quantum.

The pundits are there on a jolly so they aren't gonna waste time researching teams that are unlikely to make it out of their group. I'd say there time is spent playing golf or boozing.
