I'd say the longer it goes on, the fascists will get more support (through fearmongering) and reverse the decision. The people who voted obviously didn't know what they were doing. You may be correct about the not happening, or at least that less will happen than is being talked about. This will mean that the fascists have lost and that reason will have won.
