Tyrone / Re: Tyrone Club Football and Hurling

Young Hagan was injured for the final. He is a good lad but he does need to be given his own ball. Jarleth is another good cub as well.

I  also heard an interesting report coming out of Carmen. Clarke only wants seniors at training (seniors and reserves train together up there) and told 12 or so lads that he did not want them at training. One of the lads is a son of a very high up committee member and it did not go down well. Is a repeat of a Chris Brown fiasco on the cards Roddy?? Does the commitee run the football team as well?!

GAA Discussion / Re: Internet petition by Father

As people keep saying "there IS more to this than meets the eye". Why are those defending the father not taking note of this?
The bye laws in Tyrone are designed so that a Super Club can not be created. Someone asked earlier as to how come anyone who smelt of diesel could play for Cross. Is anyone telling me that this is good for Armagh football? Dungannon are a rich and very powerful club who have not been as successful in recent years as they have been in the past because of a neglect at underage level. Is it fair that other clubs invest their time into developing youngsters and they can leave because someone offers them free kit etc?

I dont think that Mickey would have picked Ricey at centre half for this one anyway. I think he would have been slightly alarmed at the wholes in the middle of the defence in the 1st half. Correct me if I am wrong but did Ricey not spend the 2nd half marking the Gooch?
Gormley will return to no 6 to mark Joyce.

I cant see Joe McMahon going to centre back. I think Mickey will be keen to give the block some game time on his return from honeymoon so he is not left behind. His form dipped in the early championship rounds because he opted out for a while for a break at the start of last year.

Otherwise Penrose may come in for Tommy, PJ Quinn may start in place of Magee with Ricey dropping to the bench as well after what I would call a poor defensive performanceo no saturday

This is a tricky one that is not Alien to my parish. In Coalisland, players transfer back and forward to other clubs at will. The Fianna, i stress, never push for the better players, or the younger players, but when a good player gets to a certain age the sometimes transfer to Brackaville, Derrytresk etc.
You never see this happening in Galbally parish, Ardboe or Carrickmore parishes. It seems wrong.

There are strong rumours around Manchester that Michael Owen is expected in town this afternoon to put pen to paper for Utd.

What about these supplements that are recommended. I know of a few county teams that are on "legal" supplements. What would any of you recommended

Hi folks. Please note that this is not in Coalisland as the heading would suggest. It is in Brackaville. A totally different place.

The Fianna have appointed no one as of yet but there are reportedly a few interested parties, one of which is an ex county player of very high regard!

I have heard that Carrickmore are putting some serious pressure on Ronan McGarrity to go head to head with Peter Canavan, his brother in law, next year. If he is half as smart as a manager as he was as a player, they will be close enough next year as well.

I am very interested to see who Clonoe get. They may have bother as it is a high pressure job now, with the county out to get them ;)

Now now it is not hard to work it out. Donaghmore knew that they have a better chance of beating Cookstown in a play of than beating Dromore. A point was winning the league for Dromore so.....

All in all it was a horrible year for club football with match rigging etc etc

So tell me this then. Say I am left a farm of 40 acres that has not been farmed for a few years. What is my best way of getting planning as there is nothing on it only an outhouse or 2?

I have a bit of spare cash, just a few grand, at the minute. Would it be a good time to buy shares in AIB or BOI?

As a Fianna man with a slight allengence for Carmen, I think it would be a little unfair if Carrickmore were pipped for the league title at this stage for a couple of reason.
The main one is that they accomodated the GAC in mid summer by playing games without Conor Gormley. A Carrickmore player told me that they might as well as they had been lucky with injuries this year and lads were hungary to play football. What do the GAC do to repay them? They make them play a game against Eglish at the same time as Ulster played Munster in the interprovs. Carrickmore had an extremley weakened team due to suspensions and injuries that day and really need Gormley (who had left under the assumption that they game was posponed and did not know it had been played until after the Ulster match. At the same time Clann na Gael were able to get their game off as they had players playing for Ulster. Carmen drew the game with Eglish.
The other reason, should a team go through a whole league campaign without losing and not get the chance of a league playoff. Incidently, the last time Carmen were beat in a league match (not a play off) was 35 games ago by the Fianna.
