Old Grey Whistle Test Live: For One Night Only (9pm-midnight, Friday 23 February) is a celebration of the iconic music television show that aired on the BBC from 1971 to 1988. Presented by Bob Harris, who fronted the series from 1972-1978, and produced by BBC Studios, the show returns to its original home of Television Centre in White City in a recreation of the programme's early incarnation for a glorious evening of live music performances from some of the show's favourite musicians.

At Dublin RDS on same show as Janice Ian but headlined by Chris de Burgh in early 80s.
Albert lee proving that electric guitar excellence doesn't have to be "Rock". Along with Chet Atkins he shows that country music can produce guitar music of the highest quality.
This show reminds me of 5sams. God rest him.
He would have enjoyed the OGWT tonight and would have had his favourites.
I always felt a kind of validation when he liked the music I liked.
The older I get my appreciation of story songs increases. Richard Thompson is as good as they come, and he can make that Downpatrick made guitar sing
Annie Nightingale introducing the Horslips performing "The Man Who Built America" is my all time highlight of the show
BBC4 now the story of the Undertones - repeated 1-25am
Also the story of Irish rock music - 12-25am
Country music awards on BBC four is decent viewing with some good live performances.
