The spiritual home of Leinster football will be upgraded to a 22,000 all-seater stadium.
Great news for football fans everywhere, except probably Kildare.

If you were any use you'd be playing.

Looks nice. One of the last big grounds to have the grass banks

Unless ye plan to use slaves to build it there is absolutely no way a 22000 seater stadium can be built for €9m. At least Kildare will be modest in bankrupting ourselves to bring Newbridge up to a very basic standard.

Meath folks gone so rich idle and fat they can't even stand on a terrace any more :'( :'(

At least they don't need a flotilla to reach the stand.

Itchy

Are they going to bulldoze it first, if so can so.eone give me a shout when that's happening.

With regard to the banks, I'm assuming one square metre of grass counts as a 'seat'.

We do plan to use slaves.

Louth people, no doubt.
Be careful not to accidentally seize any south Armagh people for this task.
If at first you don't succeed, then goto Plan B

€10m will just cover the 1st phase which is more realistic.
QuoteThe Drumconrath clubman expects the first phase to cost in the region of €10 million to complete.

"We're going to tackle it in phases. We're not going to over-extend ourselves" he continued.

"The first phase will see the construction of a 4,000-seater stand and our floodlights being put back up. We won't know until we speak to the contractors how long the overall project will take.

"I want to stress that the clubs will be consulted at every stage. They are the county committee at the end of the day."

It will end up putting Meath's finances under a lot of pressure much like our own redevelopment of Conleths.

From the Bunker

Ah sure might as well spend your money on developing a Stadium for it's Bi-annual Championship game. Cause all the money in Meath won't help you catch the Dubs!

Fingal will be able to use PT as their home ground until Páirc Fhine Gall is built on the GAA's new field in Naul  ;)

Cavan have very generously made Maghera McFinns pitch available to Meath while navan is renovated. It comes complete with 4 pristine grassy banks.

Ye might as well give it back to the greyhounds at this stage.
