GAA Discussion / Re: Tailteann Cup 2024

Quote from: Captain Scarlet on May 30, 2024, 10:27:59 AMFermanagh really had Kildare's number in the league but a lot has changed since then for us. But, how are they going?

In reality there are no amazing teams down here, so I'd like to think Kildare can continue to lift it. Kevin Flynn is back and there are a few lads with niggles hopefully pushing too.

Leitrim in Longford will be the stiffest test, so hope to keep momentum.

Will know more about Fermanagh after this weekend .
Wicklow were very poor and we struggled  with Carlow .

We have a few players back now who missed the league so we should be stronger.

The issue with the Tailteann is , as predicted , coverage and publicity .

Could the gaa not trial playing this competition on a Friday night and see what crowds it attracts plus get TG4 to cover it ?

Surely it's worth a try because I have the distinct feeling it's dying on its arse .

Watched Fermanagh V Wicklow today .

Fermanagh should , in truth , have won by alot more .
We missed at least 2 really good goal chances in the first half .
Second half we were clinical.
Scored 3 goals .
Defensively we were extremely solid and Wicklow couldn't break us down

Encouraging signs that Fermanagh are taking the competition seriously .

A bit of pride restored and a much needed response to the Louth game .

Can't really see anything outside of a Cavan win and a Louth win tonight to settle relegation.

Ultimately , the defeat against Cork has cost us in a game.

There would need to be some sort of reaction to what Louth did to us last weekend or the Ulster Championship game against Armagh could be very messy

Quote from: Blowitupref on March 16, 2024, 03:34:31 PMAny Fermanagh poster in attendance to explain how it went so wrong for them today? Result Louth 6-17 Fermanagh 0-11.

Also FT Meath 1-11 Cork 1-15

The worst Fermanagh display I have ever witnessed.

Have no idea what to say.
All Louth had to do was wait for Fermanagh to cough the ball up when we were attacking and then they just cut through us.
We had no defensive set up at all.
Niave isn't the word

Louth V Fermanagh next.

Would think the loser of that will be relegated

Fermanagh V Armagh pitch inspection tomorrow at midday.

I would be very surprised if this match goes ahead with the amount of snow that has fallen .
