You have to pay them. Wing Commander Marty is making a fortune out of the suckers on that site.

No, if he's "making a fortune" - which I doubt very much, btw - then he's making it from the advertisers, not the members, since other than a voluntary one-off Patron's Fee of £5.00, it's entirely free to join.

Speaking of which, how are you getting on in your attempt to join the rest of us suckers members on the Board? I hear you have more ID's than a Nigerian E-Mail scammer, but with none of his success rate...  ;)

Looks like this property raffle has been cancelled?

I read that a bunch more of these house competitions were either cancelled or postponed due to the Gambling Commission and Paypal....

still, there are plenty of these around at the moment and I don't think it'll stop anytime soon given the current environment

I'd buy a ticket if I was sure it was legal and my money was safe. To be honest, I don't really understand the argument about whether the house is worth what they say it is or not - isn't the point that whatever it is worth will be more than the price of the ticket?

surely you have to set the valuation at the start of the competition so there is a reference point, as long as it is in the right ball-park for me this isn't the biggest factor in making my decision - I would be delighted to win the house even if it was worth £300K by then

any thoughts?   ???
