Yeah he's based in Letterkenny. Fair play to him. Looks innovative.

Thanks lads. I don't know much but I'm pretty sure I don't have arthritus. Just two persistant injuries that I can't get rid of.
Regarding your tendonitis: had the same thing a few years back (caused by trying to play lawn-tennis as table-tennis), and came across a compound called 'CT Cream' (for Carpal Tunnel), that seemed to do the trick. Have no problems with tendonitis now, at all.
Google 'CT Cream', and you'll happen upon it (from the US), it may help.

That's interesting - I didn't think the straight knock-out was still being used anywhere. I know in Connacht there are league systems in place in all counties except Galway which has a convoluted qualifier method. Also leagues in Longford, Westmeath, Meath, Dublin, I think...
I wonder is there any correlation between system used and success or otherwise of the respective county teams. Continuing with straight knockout doesn't appear to have done the three northies much harm...

Has Jim McGuinness ever had a real job?

Didn't Gallagher,McGuinness go to the same college played for the same team etc..?
No they didnt. McGuinness went to college as a mature student, Tralee then UUJ. Gallagher never went to college.
Bit of a traveller yourself aren't you ck!?
Sure am! Born in "The Mana", grew up in Letterkenny and played for the Gaels. Now living in Sligo but not playing, just underage coaching. Unlike Gallagher I didnt ditch my home club at the first opportunity. He must get bored easily.
Donegal, Fermanagh and Easkey!
I smell a rat here ;
1.Anyone who knows anything about GAA knows that Rory Gallagher not only attended Sligo IT but won TWO Sigerson medals with them.
2.In all my years living with Fermanagh people at college I have never, ever, heard Fermanagh being called 'The Mana'.
3.Tell us more about the career with Letterkenny Gaels ?

Anyone know why NUI Maynooth are not in the O'Byrne cup?
Opted out when the colleges were added to the competition because it clashes with their first semester exams.
Thanks for that!
Seems a very strange decision given that loads of colleges have exams at this stage of the year. Made even stranger given that the game is on a Sunday. Do they have exams on Sundays?
NUIM don't anyway. The theological college (St Pats) might though.
They used to play in the Kildare u21 championship but KCB put a stop to that when they kept winning it.
Their non-participation in the O'Byrne Cup didn't seem to do them any harm in the Sigerson last year when they put out UUJ despite playing with 14 men for most of the second half. Not sure how the seniors are shaping up this year but they've a good freshers team from what I've heard.

I'm nervous about the UCD challenge myself. We don't want to slip up at the first fence in our quest to deny the Dubs any silverware for another year.
Wait a minute. What do I mean "we"? With the Ulster junta in charge, supporting Meath feels a bit like shouting for the British (oh - and Irish) Lions.

On what basis has Pat Spillane to be making up catagories for awards? He was a good player on a very good team who pissed through All-Irelands when the rest of the counties were slugging pints and eating frys as pre match routines. That rag Sunday world have given the p***k a platform which has just fuelled his ego. The saddest part was when RTE allowed him present the Sunday Game. We was bloody awful.. a giant leprachaun on speed.
At least Paul Galvin likes him, hmmm wonder why.
And what has that got to do with the price of a goldfish? So what if he managed a junior club side and failed. He has never stood up and went for a senior job or county coach. He'd rather fire cheap shots at those who do!
Yeah fair play, he's a good club man, but it's not good club men he rips apart in his cheap articles. Let him take a county team or top club side, then and only then he can be judged properly. I'd love to see his all flare, attacking football tactics!
ffs, spillane is easily one of the greatest players of all time and his style of play meant that he would have been great in any era
Who said he couldn't play in any era?? He stood out (as did Kerry) due to their ease of passage to provincial and AIF every year... as well as being really good team of course.
Spillane has made his name since by being controversial, no other reason! What other plonker would come out with a rugby team could win an All-Ireland if he trained them for a year.
And as for him being the chairman of his club? Yes fair dues.. but it's hardly putting his money where his mouth is! If he put his money where his mouth is then he would take a senior team coaching job at club or county level. ..or even take on a rugby team and enter them in the Muster c/ship, seeing as it's so easy. Mind you they probably would get to the Munster final. lol
Pat is a prat, simple as that!
as i stated in my original post he has managed a club team, his own!!like him or not he does more work for his club than most of us
