Why do posters (or certain posters) post spurious information. It makes my blood boil. I was all set to see Dermot make his mark on laois football

Been away from the country and football scene(still am) for awhile now. It seems the team is doing ok albeit it is Division 4 football. From looking at the remaining fixtures the hardest ones are to come starting with Wicklow on Sunday. This game will give us some idea on where we are (sad to say though that a game against Wicklow is going to be a guideline on where we are right now). I hope i'm wrong but in my opinion some here are on false dawn mode recently. We have probably played the bottom 3 teams in Ireland so far.  I personally think we could find Sunday very very difficult as will the games against Antrim & Carlow. IMO 

A couple of their players have close connections with Earley in the Army so would imagine that was a big factor. Wouldn't imagine he would be on huge dollars though as does he have any managerial experience?

Good luck to Billy. He must have made an impression on someone at CB level. With this decision we cannot throw the incompetent narrative at our new chairman like some did with the outgoing chairman when similar positions were filled in the past . Billy must have some plan prepared if he beat( hands down i hear) the likes of Higgins, Rooney and a few more to get the job. In saying that he also had the very influential support of his club and the club of his ancestors in gaining the recommended number of votes.

In fairness this is probably close to the best available we have at the moment but, a lot of them wouldnt get close to a B selection a lot of other counties. IMO two of the above forwards are average defenders, one of the selected midfielders has never played there for his club. We are where are and it will take a new generation of footballers to get us back to even a mid section footballing county

Great to see Donie back. He has missed the initial hard slog of November/December training but maybe that's ok if everyone agrees. I did hear that Brendan Quigley is going to struggle to be fit for any of the league, Anyone else hear this.

Barrow house should be ok. They provide the vast majority of Na Fianna OGs compliment of players so they always have a few. They are also close to Athy and usually pick up a few strays from that area. Kileen are in trouble unless they re start their recruitment strategy of old. Kilcruise will muster a few every year as they are getting the majority of the Arles kids coming through.

Tony I see where your coming from, however what are our chances of success without Donie ?  It's all well and good talking about desire.  But being competitive and winning fuels that desire.  If we go out and are beaten with regularity it will not do anything for squad morale.  Personally I do think a certain part of a managers job is getting the maximum out of the resources available to you.   Sugrue is unlucky that Donie has decided to do this but part of his job in my view is to get him back into a Laois Jersey.  Without Donie it makes Sugrues job that much harder, Sugrue may well prove that he can negotiate this hurdle without Donie but that is for the future.

Laois need Donie back end of, but if he isnt coming back is that a failure on Sugres part, I dont think so. Im sure he has tried but he cannot force him back, Thats up to Donie himself. My own feelings are as follows.  Donie saw what Sugrue expects from anyone who wants to play for laois, that is training 5 nights etc a week and Donie was never a fan of that type of regime.
