When was the last time 12 men won anything in football?

Galway Bay's Ollie and Barry getting really excited by the result! :)     ;)

Have you ever heard a GBFM match commentary before? It's that way all the time regardless of what's happening on the pitch, they don't get called Galway Biased FM for nothing.

Ah we have our own biased crew on Midwest Radio. It was Comedy gold listening to the commentary. Lines like ''there is an eerie silence among the Mayo fans leaving'' and ''This sets up the League game in Salthill'' were looking through my hands moments!  ;D
Local radio at its best 😂
Martin Carney on Mid West last summer anyone? 😀

Martin was not crying in 2012 for Mayo! Made no secret of his delight at Donegal winning. Shure what more would you expect from him for his native county?

How was Padraic Cunnigham? He seemed to have an impact on radio anyway. Scored a couple points from play in the second half and was unlucky with a couple of goal chances in the first. Hit the post with one.

Heard this evening he turned down Cork City to see how he'd get on with the footballers this year but who knows? Maybe he'll sign for Cork in the morning but it'd be strange if he was selected for the FBD game in the meantime. It's his own business I guess so best of luck to him either way.

This could get ugly for the returning tourists.

Mayo Mick has a 20 mins clip of last night's game on youtube. A very low quality game that was played on a bog of a pitch every bit as bad as the Hyde was on April 2016. Rochford hinted after the game that a number of the first teamers will return to action this Sunday and as ever with him you won't know for sure who will start until close to throw in.

Would be great to see O'Donoghue making the cut, he looked very good at U21

Half times

Galway 3-3 Leitrim 0-7
Roscommon 0-8 Mayo 0-7

Syferus

Ros 0-14 Mayo 0-11 FT.

We missed a penalty with the last kick of the game too. When Ian Kilbride got sent off for a non-yellow second yellow card we spent the final 32 minutes with 14 men but played all our best football in that stretch too. Not even giving up a single goal chance was the thing that impressed me most.  A repeat of that in two weeks time will leave us in a good place when the Trimmers come to town.

Not too ugly for an experimental Mayo team though.
