GAA Discussion / Re: Sportsmans's groin/hernia

50/50 ball had most of the same symptoms as yourself. Went to Roy Spence in Ulster Independent, got MRI which showed up problem in both my hips. Was referred to Prof. Cullen and I got an MRI arthogram, which is an MRI but with a coloured die injected into the hip. Result was a torn labrum in the hip joint. At 35 I didn't fancy an operation (was being referred to Richard villar in England for the operation) that couldn't guarantee it would fix the problem, so I quit the football and I did an extensive rehab programme which settled the problem. It flares up now and again but I couldn't go back playing football regularly. A lot of hip based exercises are a no no now, ie. squats, thrusters, mountain climbers, burpees etc. God knows what my hip will be like in 5 years time.

POTY should be exactly that, just because he may have head butted or eye gouged, u cant then say he shouldn't get player of the year because of that. If he was the best player in the championship then he deserves to be recognised this way in spite of the misdemeanours! He plays on the edge like a lot of players do. He is interested in winning all-Irelands, that's what he trains all year for. IMHO he was man of the match in the all-Ireland final but he should also get a suspension for his action in that game. FFS they were going to suspend McCann for 8 weeks for diving.

Coalisland were totally toothless and clueless up front! Trillick much the better team throughout.

All intermediate games off next weekend because of the Galbally v Derrylaughan replay. So that will be 4/5 week break for intermediate teams that are out of the championship! Crazy stuff!!

There'll be no club football played if canavan and dooher take over. Sure they were stopping U21's playing in non-starred game fixtures this year!

McGeary was in the panel training with the seniors at the end of last year/start of this year but left to concentrate on Tyrone U21s and Sigerson for St. Mary's. Harte may well treat this as a snub.
