Is there a way of taking more games out of Croke Park?

Just wondering is there a way of taking League Semi-finals, League Finals, All games up to Leinster final, last 12 games and All Ireland Quarter Finals out of Croke Park? Most of these would be better served played in a Provincial venue. It's seems that the corporate boxes and Dublin rule the roost.

Apart from the now unbelievable advantage that Dublin players and supporters have of playing all their Competitive knockout games in Dublin. There's also the economic considerations for towns around the country. Spread the wealth.

Are the GAA now responsible for the economic woes of the country? That said I would like to see four neutral stadia built in the four provinces that would hold 50k rather than money being pumped in to 32 individual county grounds that lie mostly idle.

The GAA are not responsible for our economic woes. But they could sure help give a minor boost here and there. Like you say there are all this idle stadia around the country. Hotels, B&B's, Pubs, Petrol stations, restaurants, Shops, Take aways, and so on would get a swing of the money.

And it might water down Dublins crazy monopoly on home games.

Sure Jaysus ye got a lovely spin to Limerick last year and ye only shut up about it a month ago or so :)

Mmmm. Some Mayo fans went berserk last year when an AISF replay was fixed for Limerick.

Would start with giving Thurles E10,000 to repaint the place. Very grotty in places.

Would think the new Cork stadium would and should have some 1/4 final games at the very least.

In fairness whether you like it or not, CP by and large is easily accessible to most of the country with motorways and railway connections etc.

Not counting the cost of a ticket, how much does it cost you in terms of time and money to go to a championship match on average Canalman?

In the provincial Champions home ground for quarter finals! League Finals could be rotated around the provinces, with a bit of common sense added in.

Depends really. Thurles, Tullamore, Wexford Park, Nowlan Park, Portlaoise, Ennis trips generally more expensive following the hurlers. Usual petrol expenses etc.

CP cheaper obviously. Probably around E6ish in bus fares there and back.

The reality is that stadia now being developed in Cork and Belfast (if the locals allow it be built) are not really suited on geographic grounds for most quarter finals. While Cork could be used for Kerry v Tipp, and Casement for some some combination of Down/Derry/Armagh/Tyrone, most games would be best played elsewhere.
If at first you don't succeed, then goto Plan B

Does Croker suit Cork or Kerry fans?
