I feel like Tyrone tv might have missed a trick not showing the game tomorrow. I'd imagine more people would pay to stream that rather the Moy vs greencastle tonight and many other previous championship games.
As far as I'm aware clonoe get to keep all the gate money as the home team so the county board would be getting nothing from the game which makes the decision not to stream it even stranger.

Tyrone Gaa

County Board take the gate. Clonoe only have the advantage of the home pitch. All financial gain goes directly to Garvaghy.

Agree it should be televised. It's a massive game
Living the dream!!!

Any statto out there know the % win for the home team in the relegation playoff?

Is it a massive advantage?

The relegation playoff between 3rd and 2nd bottom of Division 1 didn't happen in 2020 and 2021 but in the other 4 seasons from 2018 - 2023 the home team won so yes it seems to be a big advantage. You have to go back to 2017 when Strabane were beat at home by Urney.

Aaron Boone

It just feels like the biggest match in the county for a long time. It's the hot topic.

Seems to be more interest in it than the county final, there's a lot more at stake obviously so that's got  the county so engrossed and possibly even further afield I would say. Two traditional powerhouses.

It would be a crazy thing to see both of them in intermediate next year, doubtful of that however.

Fianna could really rue this wastefulness, 8 wides in the first half alone

when you look back at those teams being D1 not so long ago really was a great achievement.

Given strabanes population, it surely wasn't that much of an achievement?

massive soccer town and then other issues hampered the progress of the GAA, I can't ever remember it being a predominantly GAA town with much success.

The GAA always seemed to take a backseat and was never a big stronghold. However I could be completely wrong with memory of the place, the more veteran members of the board may be able to shine some more light on it?

The home team wins again in this particular playoff but there's also a history of the Division 1 team getting relegated by the Division 2 team so Clonoe just not out of the woods yet.

Duine Inteacht Eile

There's also the factor that the home team is the team who finished higher in the league.

Coalisland won't get it as easy as they think next year in intermediate...
