Don't know how long its been knocking about but Justified is back (Justified Primeval). If you liked the original you'll like this, splashed some money on casting too. On Disney

I normally do stop myself tbh  (as i wearily see the same sorta comments on the Celtic thread), didn't think it was controversial tho.

Quote from: Eire90 on October 03, 2023, 02:28:50 PMits a new level of low if they are stalking peoples social media profiles to use for sledging porposes.

This isn't a new thing and it's certainly not specific to Kilcoo, nor Down.

One of our lads was targeted a good few years back against a South Derry team about his ma, girlfriends títs etc etc obviously from SM, it didn't end there and followed on to the Hatfield later that night, but the lad in question got his comeuppance on the Monday morning and wasn't so brave when it was a one-on-one.

Loose lips cause teeth to get knocked out and all that!

Easily solved in this day and age, equip each player with a microphone.

Quote from: Puckoon on October 03, 2023, 05:38:59 PMYeah, I read it repeatedly. Still not sure what you're actually saying in regards to McIlroy.

To spell it out for you - if he'd played GAA / Soccer in an actual genuine 'derby' context he'd know what a real rivalry is - not a contrived one like the Ryder Cup.

Do you have some sort of quota to meet for the number of times you drop into this thread to declare your lack of interest in it?

Quote from: bennydorano on October 02, 2023, 06:51:49 PMGolf is one of the few sports i cant really warm to, the Ryder Cup 'competitive' element just seems so contrived when you follow sports where hair & teeth are flying regularly. Mcilroy obviously gets so wound up about it all, a few derby slaps when younger might have changed his outlook on life, tho I'm sure he's quite happy with his current life trajectory.

Why does he need his outlook on life changed? Strange comment

If you've ever stood over a putt that means anything at all (particularly in a team game) and had to make it for the win or tie, it's the emotional equivalent of teeth and hair flying inside you. It's a silent hatred against the opponent for that period of time where you simply want to stomp someone who may be your best mate into the ground on the scorecard. Just because it doesn't end up all Kilcoo and Clonduff doesn't take away from the competitive edge. Just look at the amount of people driven to cheating to win.

I can't imagine the pressure to have a putt to win or to not lose the Ryder Cup.
It doesn't, as alluded to in the very next sentence.

What a player, remember being at his debut against Dundee united don't think anyone would have guessed the career he would go on and have.

A modern great. All the best Tam
His retirement statement was a lovely read. He'll always be Celtic's John McEntee to me

The best attempt at breaking into a 'new' market by any sports is soccer in the USA, it looks like its eventually gaining a genuine foothold after numerous attempts going back to the 70s, but it's still far from being the top dog. The US has the obvious attraction of mucho money & a huge population - Portugal, Romania, Georgia and most other T2 nations have neither. I'd say the IRB would much rather see Germany make a real fist of it more than the more established T2 sides. But as has mentioned numerous times, culture is hugely important, Italy can't make the final push to be a Top T1 side because soccer rules the roost.

I don't see any genuine change coming in Rugby tbh, maybe Italy produce a once in a generation side that can win a 6 Nations title to get some genuine momentum but highly unlikely. Introducing D1 & D2 6 nations with the jeopardy of relegation / promotion has to worth an experiment but won't happen either.

Slow horses is excellent ok. Couldn't warm to bad sisters at all and that would normally be my sorta thing. Ted Lasso is the biggest bag of shite, anybody other than Jason Sudekis in the lead and that show sinks without a trace.

I have watched (and enjoyed) Hijack.  Is there anything else worth watching on the platform?
If you like Sci Fi, Foundation is excellent (s2 just over). Also sci fi, The Silo, started strong, ended ok.

Morning show for a TV show related drama is pretty good.

Watched S1 of Top Boy after giving up on it b4, stuck with itthis time & thoroughly enjoyed it. I couldn't watch it without subtitles. 2 seasons to go.

When you strip them all down, they're generic nonsense, same story churned out in different cultures.
