Amazing how Arsenal were able to play him as if nothing had happened.
The problem is, legally at least, nothing had happened.
Same with Greenwood. Different reaction to it though.
Greenwood did what he did. We all saw the video. United made their call based on that, not the legals around it.

Quote from: From the Bunker on June 18, 2025, 02:53:22 PMWe have no cutting edge Journalists left anymore. They are all afraid of going against any Narrative and being cancelled.
McKenna is all over the place - But at least he speaks his mind.

This f**king nonsense. Any stupid **** can "speak their mind". Doesn't mean they've anything to say.

It also means that they may have something to say and are not afraid of the consequences.
We badly need these sort of Journalists - whether we agree or not with them.

MacKenna really, really, desires the status of being the 'only one that speaks his mind and isn't afraid to stand up to the man'. Obviously a healthy society needs people like that generally speaking, but Ewan MacKenna is not that person. He doesn't have the talent or temperament. He's just a crank with clear mental health issues. A pitiful figure really.

Even at the micro level. We all agree that the tv/streaming situation for Gaelic games is far from ideal. So if you have to make shit up to bolster that simple argument you are into flake territory.

Wasn't that debunked?

Opening the whole stadium under lights costs x, but you don't need to do that for every event.

You can open one section of the Hogan for kids games at a token cost.

Apparently you have a constitutional right to not have criminal convictions made public!?!

I'm not sure is this scheme as planned fully thought out, but surely a public register of all convictions would cover this.

Almost as if random people can't break the law and claim to be a journalist and get journalistic privilege. Even an actual journalist would need a letter from their editor.

As a scoreboard operator for club championship games and county games I always confirmed at HT the scoreboard was correct.
I always waited on the flag/ref signal to put the score up.

As a coach I always had a mgt member record the score and would always check in on it. I would have also always confirmed with the ref the score at HT and again possibly with a few mins to go if it was tight and I was anything less than 100%.

In this case the game was correct. The venue made a mistake and I think the media copied that.
I would doubt if Kilkenny were all under the impression there was 3 in it. Id guess E Murphy knew. I'd guess some of the mgt knew. It may be that some outfield players didn't but I'd also guess some did - some players are well in tune with all aspects of the game, with some even savvy enough to ask the ref.

But the ref had the score wrong too so a player asking wouldn't have got the right answer

Quote from: Blowitupref on July 06, 2025, 09:30:42 PMHQ has confirmed the final scoreline was 4-20 to 0-30.  Kilkenny thinking they were 3 behind was going for a goal late on.

This has potential to get messy. KK had enough point chances to pull back a 2 point deficit that I think they would have taken if the realised they were 2 down rather than 3

It *shouldn't* get messy. The referees report is all that matters. It's embarrassing, but nothing to do with the rules of the game.

Similar happened in a Sigerson game I was involved in. A player asked the referee the score, his score was different to the scoreboard, so he told the chap to change it at half time. Admittedly it was football, but we all knew the actual score ourselves.

Quote from: Baile Brigín 2 on June 27, 2025, 01:22:09 PMThe €24m for Dundalk is phase 1, 6,000 seats.

Where does it say that?
https://www.thestadiumbusiness.com/2025/04/30/louth-gaa-gets-green-light-for-new-stadium/

Likewise, most reports of the Pairc Tailteann redevelopment project are in or around €25m.
Of course, Casement is more than these, but 6 times should be sufficient for a decent job, I would have thought.

https://www.rte.ie/sport/football/2025/0429/1510015-louth-secure-funding-for-new-stadium-development/#:~:text=Louth%20GAA's%20share%20of%20the,capacity%20stadium%20pending%20a%20reassessment.

RTÉ Sport understands that the first phase will cost up to €24m.

I think the spec for Casement is well beyond Meath and Louth. There will be terracing, and Casement plans corporate boxes and whatnot
