In fairness Kildare were the better team in 2016 and really should have won while our under 20s next year should be stronger than theirs if we have everyone available. It is still going to need something close to a miracle to close the gap though.

4 in a row for Dublin, the future is bright for Leinster football.

Will Dubs actually stop going to watch games is a better question. Attendances in parkhead this year remain high even though basically guaranteed to win every match. When Rangers did 9 leagues in a row in 90s, what were gates like?

Pretty terrible until Parkhead was redeveloped.

It would be a major shock if they didn't.
Donegal stopped the bid in 2014. It can be done

And that was a major shock. It took a tactical masterclass, top class performances from Durcan and McHugh and a bit of luck for that to happen though. Mayo last year didn't have the luck or a fair referee but it would have been a greater shock considering their lack of form.

He was very skilful for a big man, that will come back in time. If he gets over his injuries he will definitely be an asset. Hard to know what his best position would be though still, he seemed lacked workrate as a midfielder but that could have been down to his hip problem. His fielding was never top quality either despite his size. Moolick is the same in that department.

Explain 'skorts' to her, while you're at it.  ;D

Not as Irish as I thought.

I'd much rather the win over Galway. Clare's running game could cause Meath a lot of trouble too so I wouldn't be assuming Meath will beat them.
Kildare will need to improve a lot to beat Galway though.

Health and safety reduced the capacity while upgrades were done (a few licks of paint and some new barriers coupled with toilets improved a little). Capacity should be back up close to 10k at this stage but I'm not sure of what the official figure is. The last sell out was the 2013 game against Tyrone and even at that the Kilcullen end was empty enough. The GAA has a massive aversion to having full houses at matches.

Back in 95 it was overcrowded by all accounts and probably dangerous. Kildare won that day.

Bitter hatred? Nah! It's more pity and disdain. Couldn't give a fiddlers about you other you never never stop moaning & whinging about Dublin. You fckd your money away on McGeeney. You have a sh1tehole of a ground that isn't capable of hosting Div 1 games. Sort your own sh1t out and stop whinging like a fn 4 year old about Dublin.

Spouting vitriolic nonsense again, Kildare's financial problems of a few years ago were more down to the struggles of paying for Hawkfield. The fund-raising efforts that McGeeney put in more than made up for the relatively modest expenses /salary he made in the county (I know that for a fact). Completely off point in 2018 anyway.

Newbridge is a shithole of a ground but is more than capable of holding division 1 games and all I'm calling for is fairness in that regard. Roscommon were allowed play games in Kiltoom last year in division 1 which is a lot worse and smaller.

Sure on the basis our 5500 season ticket holders can be accomodated. Will beat the living daylights out of you regardless of where it's played. No doubt you'll find something else to whinge & complain about then.

You get promoted and that's the first thing you think of. You never stop do you! Youre a sad fn excuse for an inter county team. Great to have you back in Div 1. That's 2 points guaranteed and a damn good hiding to go with it 😅

I'm just 1 contrary fan, I'm sure the team itself will be focusing on the next game and trying to improve. The only thing I would like to see is that teams are treated fairly in terms of getting to play home games, it was a disgrace in 2013 to only have 2 league games played in Newbridge (our county board were culpable too).

We love that ye still have a bitter hatred against us even though we are absolutely no threat whatsoever to Dublin's dominance.

I know it is the 2018 version of this league I'm talking about but will Kildare be allowed have their 1st home game against Dublin in 23 years next year or will it be moved to the neutral Croke park?

It was a division 3 level performance from Kildare today but they still managed to scrape a win. I'd expect as strong a team as possible will be named for the Galway game as there is a lot of improvement needed before the summer.
It is hard to know whether Ben McCormack will be risked but he looked sharp when he came on. Dan Flynn missed the game today with a hamstring injury so he definitely will be out and he is a massive loss as creates space well, tackles well and frightens the life out of defenders when he does get a run at them.

Clare have an excellent running game and were very fit today. They deserved a draw at least. Paudie Hughes was Paudie Hughes and took away from the spectacle with his attempt at implementing non contact rules.

I'm delighted he never got the Kildare job either when he was interested.

Not a bad standard at all. The GAA really needs to get on to some local municipalities in these areas and get some 15 a side pitches put in place. Would be more beneficial than spunking €100m building white elephants  to be used for a rugby world cup.
