Anytime I've watched Kildare I always think there's something there, plenty of potential.

New management next year and some squad reinforcements to come in. No 1st teamers at obvious retirement age yet either so hopefully we can have a good team next year.

It might have been entertaining to see them take a big beating off Dublin though, moreso for the pundit meltdown.

I think it is fair to say Kildare's paranoia about referees is somewhat justified.

Who lines up as sub keeper for Kildare is the main thing I'm interested in here. Enda Murphy maybe?

Got a ticket for the centre of the lower Hogan this morning, not a good sign for the attendance.

Kildare had a preliminary round earlier in the year but the championships start for clubs without county (senior & u20) players next week with county players getting the 2 week break.

He forgot about Karl O'Connell too.

Poor enough hatchet job from McKenna on Fitzmaurice today, trying to get revenge for O'Sé's hatchet job on Cian O'Neill the day before the Carlow game. Can't see it having the same effect.

On the plus side, 6 defenders have been chosen instead of trying to convert wispy forwards into defenders. Anyway, Dublin are out in an All-Ireland semi the following weekend whether A team or B team, I seriously doubt they will be putting too much effort into this and I don't expect this to be as bad as people fear. It would be nice to restore some pride even if a dead rubber.

The official attendance should be well over 30k, I'd expect maybe around 7-8k Kildare fans anyway.
