He was saying his was over 300,00euro 10 years ago. That said I think the housing market is ripping people off more that the Oasis tickets gouge  ;)

Follow the money.

Who won the "contract" and who are they greasing the palms of?

Quote from: Rossfan on September 03, 2024, 08:12:20 PMSeems a right rip off but presumably there was a tender or quotes obtained?

We're talking 0.004% of Public expenditure

Could any of the money be reclaimed through environmental impact studies, Bat surveys, Planning permission, building control, VAT etc?

The contactors/suppliers would also be taxed on the income you'd assume as it was hardly a cash deal.

Look-Up!

The price for shed is shocking but at this stage unsurprising. Hard to believe that that could get through a tendering process without some sort of collusion with contractors but then again you should never underestimate the stupidity or apathy of bureaucracy or what people will sign off on when it's not their own money and there's a series of box ticking "requirements" to be met.

Very worrying this crowd or whoever are next will have to tackle the housing crisis, address the planning process in Ireland, oversee public transport infrastructure upgrade and maintain and improve health service all on a growing population. On top of that the zero carbon targets. Money is flowing at the moment, full employment, government sound like sailors about to hit shore bragging about how much money they have in their pockets. But economies run on cycles. If there's a worldwide bust, money from Europe dries up and unemployment soars, we'll have one unholy mess.

Look-Up!

I'd imagine minimal, cost mostly on the structure itself.
Environmental: It was built on tarmac in the middle of the city.
Bats: Grand, send a lad out to count the bats in the attic but it's a bicycle shed built on existing tarmac.
Building control: It's  bicycle shed for 18 bikes built outside. Walkthrough open structure.
Planning: 10k? ballpark.
VAT: 13.5%. Still an eyewatering project cost.
Tax: 12.5% on posted profit. The amount can be reduced significantly by a good accountant, costs absorbed elsewhere, reinvestment back into company. And sure why not write some off in wining and dining of, ahem, "potential clients".

End of the day there is no positive slant to be had here.

€322k construction costs (less VAT say €285k nett😬)

Is there €5k worth of stuff in it?

Gone very quiet here..... ;D

But with nearly 50% of FG TDs retiring will they get 24% of votes/transfers/seats?
The oul recognisability factor gets a lot of votes.

Shinners have lost the extreme rightist who jumped on them as a "nationalist" party; lost a lot of left of centre people not impressed with their double speak on immigrants and lost the grumblers, moaners and whingers who now have "Independent Ireland" to moan for them.

FFG sleeping at the wheel...again.

Maybe this has come out today to cover up the mess that is the Children's Hospital.

What a mess...given to the taxpayer by FFG.

Rossfan

€230m in Sports grants today, €97m to GAA Clubs and County Boards (incl Ros CB for the Hyde).
Thank you Taxpayers and "FFG".
