Even should you have an outrageously large 70 litre tank on your car, and manage to arrive in a Go station just as you're about to run out, and do so as a matter of a normal commute rather than going out of your way, then your total savings would be, wait for it, wait for it... £14.

Part of me would support a cull of anyone queuing for this offer. You know, for the long term betterment of the human race and all that.

£14  is   a lot of money for some people

If you can afford to run a car, then honestly it's not.

In the bigger scheme of things it probably isn't a whole pile, but the side affect of this is that it may force others to drop their prices to compete, market economy and all that.

Guilty your honour. I was passing by one of these petrol stations last year, needed to fill up and shamelessly queued up and saved myself a few pound. £10 better in my pocket than theirs

Boiler is really at its limits, replaced pump not so long ago, but the actual boiler in the garage is ready to stop.

Plumber said its not that much more to convert to Gas or get a new boiler, friend says he's paying £170 a month for Gas?  seems a lot?

Would those using gas now given an opportunity to return to oil would you?

Do not convert to gas, I have gas and really wished I still had oil. Much easier and handier to keep a cost control over it.

Easier system to maintain, less components... no need for an oil tank in your garden, a gas boiler much quieter and cleaner than an oil boiler

I don't think there is any big savings to be had either way.

Whatever decision you make on the boiler, make sure your system gets a proper power flush (remove all the magnetite and black gunk outta the system) add inhibitor and a magnetic filter. For a couple hundred more pound you will prolong the life of your boiler
Gas boiler you get 10year warranty nowadays, you'll not get that with an oil one

It's such a split call from all ones I've spoken too recently...

I've a few physical reasons why I'd choose gas, rid of hot press, oil tank, immediate heated water and not ever having the dreaded job of when the oil runs out, in restarting the oil in the boiler (if anyone knows what I'm talking about will understand)

I think the financial side is the only factor for me currently and with the current global factors it could get worse for both I suppose, but gas more so?

Gas prices are less reactive. If the prices are up they'll stay up for longer than oil. It should be the same in reverse but I have yet to see evidence of it...

We are being ridden into the ground again. We've all been conditioned into paying through the nose for things people don't question any more. Fuel companies are posting record profits with bigger profit margins yet they sell it as their costs have increased exponentially so prices have to increase. Their bottom line doesn't tell that same story. I understand capitalism but f**k me there is a difference between making a few quid and robbing people. Don't even get me started on insurance companies.

Oil prices went up since December and the dollar also went up, so fuel here went up. Now oil is declining somewhat and the dollar has fallen back a bit, so that help..
