I don't get this not keeping scores for U12 or watever matches... ffs! We played in primary school and coped with losing ok... and the medal for everyone in other competitions. Winning and losing is part of life... tighten up ffs!..
Dog story went in while I was typing! 😳🐕

I was watching the Joe Biden documentary last night. He had a stammer when young and wasn't well off, but the motto in his house was get up and keep going. His wife and daughter were killed in an accident. He became President, and one that history may look better on than appears now. There needs to be a touch of "I get knocked down and I get up again".

Never trust a man that would kick a dog.
Even if the dog deserved it?

So when does a dog deserve a kicking?

If it's mauling a kid?

I actually gave a dog a kicking last week, attacked my dog and wasn't letting go. Don't really remember doing it, started on footpath and when it was over I was in the middle of the road with cars stopped.

Would I ever kick a dog for no reason though - no.

Quote from: From the Bunker on November 17, 2024, 02:11:12 PMRe-watched the Serrano/Taylor fight. A real great fight.

Hometown fight, hometown commentary.
You watch it on mute - Taylor wins - Just.

As someone said earlier boxing is not judged by Compubox.

You can land a plethora of tippy tappy shots that count as shots landed.
It's about quality shots and Katie landed them multiple times.

fight ruined by the Taylor Headbutts whether intentional or not they did make a difference.

I didn't base my decision in compubox, but when you look at the punches landed per round Serrano was miles ahead and she wasn't the one throwing tippy tappy punches.

Only watch Taylor Serrano there, tight enough fight but think Serrano deserved it. The compubox stats would back her too.

Quote from: Substandard on November 08, 2024, 12:57:55 AMIt's a rock and a hard place now for Derry.  The will they/ won't they regarding Gallagher is just making it harder- the longer the process,  the more difficult and unappealing it becomes, the more the scrutiny is magnified,  and the shadow of Gallagher will be hanging over the whole time.
It just seems bizarre, given the player resources which would be far ahead of the vast majority of counties.

Am I right in thinking he hasn't been prosecuted or convicted of anything?

Has full custody (as I understand it) of his children.....rare as hen's teeth that a man gets that.

Yet we have all-stars with serious violent convictions playing away and winning awards.

Let him manage away, the noise will die down in days

Agreed.

What is the action to be taken if it was too short, i.e. if Mings had been in the 6 yard box?

Were Glenullin not winners of the last two Derry IFCs in a row too? Yet they were still in in this year also.

Quote from: Norm-Peterson on November 02, 2024, 10:15:24 PMIt is funny how Kyle Hayes was given an All Star despite his criminal convictions yet Rory Gallagher can't get the Derry job (or another county job) because of alleged criminality.

Crazy.
