A few Andrew Tate fans around the place, I see. Can't say I'm shocked.

Quote from: DeasBĂ©alFeirste on January 16, 2025, 06:09:12 AMWe can't pretend it's the same thing, this isn't difficult to understand lads.

This is it in a nutshell. Problem is a rake of lads want to believe otherwise.

"Keep it for the big schools" attitude is no different to Leinster Rugby boys and their Schools Cup.

As for whoever made the daft argument that it's ok in clubs, but not in schools, because lads wouldn't really like other schools, really?! And they like other clubs?

Why? Why wouldn't that apply to clubs?

Quote from: Targetman on January 14, 2025, 11:12:39 PMFrom a Down perspective its been another poor year for schools at senior level, Abbey and Colmans beat in 1/4 finals of Mc Rory and Red High and St Malachys the same in Mc Larnon, its not looking great for future!!

Another very disappointing year for our schools. Plans afoot I see to send GDO's into our secondary schools. This is a move in the right direction. Just thinking as well. We've one Ulster MFC title in the past 36 years and that was in 1999.

You also won an AI minor in '05 after losing the Ulster final in fairness.

Because maybe some people think a greater ideal for underage football is that as many people capable of playing at as high a level of football as possible get to do so, rather than trying to satisfy the unquenchable thirst for vicarious glory of a load of alumni on the internet.

Quote from: BigGreenField on January 14, 2025, 06:23:16 PMAt some point with amalgamations you begin to lose the point of what schools football is about, certainly helps in preparing future county players but shouldn't be then be all and end all.

Pray tell, what is the "point" of schools football exactly? Because your follow-up comment is precisely what schools football in the north has become in the last 20 years.

Quote from: 5times5times on January 13, 2025, 06:41:32 PMHow do the mexicans feel about Ulster possibly winning another 2x AI titles this year?

All-Ireland Senior Football Championship - Armagh

All-Ireland Under 20s - Tyrone

All-Ireland Minor - Derry

Tailteann Cup - Down

National League Division One - Derry

National League Division Two - Donegal

All-Ireland Senior Club - Glen (Derry)

All-Ireland Intermediate Club - St Patrick's (Armagh)

All-Ireland Junior Club - Arva (Cavan)

Sigerson Cup - Ulster University

Hogan Cup - Omagh CBS (Tyrone)

You can't claim the club titles in both years to suit that argument.

They could all take Daddy's chopper over to Artane!

Feels like it should be a bigger story than it appears to be. An all time, Tier 1 catastrophe story of mismanagement within the GAA. Given the Revenue cases at the minute, the need for greater regular and oversight is plain to see.

There was a credit union up in that part of the world that suffered from similar incompetence during the boom times when the numbers involved became ever more eye watering. The more professional things become, the more professional management is required.

What are you crying about now? Touched a nerve has he? If you're representative of Irish America he'd not be wrong to suggest how embarrassed by you we frequently are.

Refs helped them in fairness. Inexplicable decision to let the Eagles keep the opening kickoff fumble recovery after multiple replays showed Nixon recovering it.
