"patriotism not globalism."

How about this for a talking point- what sort of a dumb shit got elected president of the United States, and what sort of a dumb shit is writing his speeches.

The greatest minds of the GOP advised a defence akin to:
You can't find me guilty of attempted murder when I was 18, I didn't legally kill anyone until much later in my life.

Impressive news reporting from the indianapolis star...

Hopefully the rest is implied...

i think today we hit maximum irony.

in a speech to the United Nations, who has 4 founding principles including:

To achieve international co-operation in solving international problems of an economic, social, cultural, or humanitarian character, and in promoting and encouraging respect for human rights and for fundamental freedoms for all without distinction as to race, sex, language, or religion;

the representative of 48% of voting Americans and 32% of the nations collective IQ said these 2 classics:

1)" America is governed by Americans. We reject the ideology of globalism, and we embrace the doctrine of patriotism."

and of course:

2)  the United States will provide no support in recognition to the International Criminal Court. As far as America is concerned, the ICC has no jurisdiction, no legitimacy, and no authority. The ICC claims near-universal jurisdiction over the citizens of every country, violating all principles of justice, fairness, and due process.

Now what you didn't know is that apparently there are a lot of mid western right wing voters hiding out in the UN which is why there was a pitch for the electoral votes of the UN council;

"In less than two years, my administration has accomplished more than almost any administration in the history of our country.

Americaís ó so true. ( UN- Laughter.) Didnít expect that reaction, but thatís okay. ( UN more laughter and applause.)"

(anything in quotes is from the official transcript)

Same old shite.

Everything is viewed through one lens.

It's all going to be about who can get the votes out in the mid term and whether Trump's 2 years of making the rich richer and the poor poorer is considered a win by the conservatives and Christians who want to preserve their sterilized version of 1950s Americana via the supreme Court and short sighted immigration policies which harm the overall economy but preserve the Republican majority. The targeted "bring out the vote" in key areas machinery is exceptional and they play the same consistent message to their base over and over, to the point that it goes unquestioned.

On the other side you have a rudderless reaction culture with no agenda, no leader and no plan to unite against the navel gazing of the right and the abdication from global prominence and global leadership of the last 60 years. They are too busy in fighting and positioning for a 2024 run that to take any stance that could make a difference. It doesn't matter how many protest marches for the theme of the moment the Democrats run, they haven't set out a plan or an agenda other than"well, we're not Trump"

Used to be the office of President was the leader of the Free world, sadly now it's the leader of the electoral college system. And I don't see an elephant nor a donkey anywhere that is likely to change that any time soon.

Youíd swear these people think that making up a charge like this is akin to a child lying to his parents about some minor misdeed, with no consideration of consequences beyond the moment. They seem to have no appreciation of the problems women have historically faced when it comes to dealing with sexual assault and abuse, in all its forms.

If allegations of this vintage, with no corrobarating witnesses and timed to specifically derail the vote on Kavanaughcame out against a Democrat, I would be equally as skeptical

If every politician, judge and public official is held to account for their actions as drunken teenagers Iím sure 90% will turfed our of office

And are you saying that is a bad thing? Maybe we shouldn't be doing that as drunken teenagers...

The issue from yesterday's discussion was why in the world would a successful woman destroy her life to become a footnote in history unless she absolutely and firmly believe that BKs actions that far back were heinous.

Whitey,
My own limited experience has Republican men completely believe this is a trumped up charge.

On the other hand, Republican (very very Republican) women are not comfortable and are urging another conservative nomination asap in case of mid term calamity for the party. They fear that the blocking of Garland will mean that the Dems will hold off on approving any nominee on Trump term 1 ( of a likely 2)

Why is it that most British pro Brexit politicians seem to think that 1 vs 27 is going to be a fair fight?

Ok in cold light of day...

The purse and PPV revenue for round 3 will be enormous and the longer they let it stew the higher the money it will rise.

Alvarez got 55% of last night's purse if I remember correctly.

Still think GGG had it by 3/4 rounds.

Aw now c'mon. GGG has got to be feeling like a blind man could have called that. You say the margins were thin but you are still clear the margins were his.

Someone bought and paid for that, question is who?

Oh wait trilogy- no way, who'd have thunk it...

They implied that it was significant, unprecedented and that it somehow would hinder the relief efforts of the impending disaster.

All complete bvllshit and a brazen effort to intentionally mislead people

White, it has taken them a while but it seems as if the opposition has taken a leaf out of your teams book.

The sooner this whole nutjobs in the wings runming the show phase of US politics is over and there is a return to the center, and the well being of the American people is at the heart of anyone electable's strategy the better.

I think we are a bit short of that for now, and with the continuing tweets and press statements coming from 1600 Pennsylvania avenue making me year for the much more believable days of Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf.

On the bright side, in the long run, we are all dead...

I think the probability of a 35% drop in the price of houses might be enough to put people off Brexit.

3000 Americans dead as a result of Hurricane Maria

Trump "great success"

For context, that's more than died in the twin towers.

Florence currently off the coast of the Carolinas in endangering a lot more white people. Trump " we are as ready as anyone has ever been"

Sad

Ok fella, I think the assertion that you get the death penalty for removing evidence from a crime scene may be an indicator that the plot has officially been lost...

And

Why all the fuss?

More Americans died as a result of hurricane Maria that at the WTC

Trump calls this a great success, hopefully Florence is somewaht less succesful
