Quote from: Dag Dog on Today at 05:14:48 PMAny chance McGuinness would ditch the glasses. She looks like a cranky school teacher with them. I would never vote for that,
You're saying there's a chance.

Quote from: NotedObserver on July 05, 2025, 11:17:27 AMWhat a catalogue of belters they have. Brilliant band and will be in croke park on 16th to see them
If they haven't split by then.

A superb player, had all the skills, and a desire to win to go with it.  And no doubt a great person off the pitch, devoted to his family. An awful tragedy, may he rest in peace, and thoughts are with all the Liverpool fans on here.

GAA Discussion / Re: Tailteann Cup 2025

Are we giving Tailteann Cup success any credit for the journey Meath are on, or Down for that matter?  Did it give them the opportunity to build, win something, and kick on?

Give me a main event rather than a double header any day. Donegal and Monaghan could've packed out Breffni on Sunday and there'd be no issue.

I'd have Armagh as solid favourites for the All Ireland. They have so many options and they've been there and done it.

Quote from: Orior on June 20, 2025, 06:42:44 PMBizarre how Irish politicians (SDLP and DUP) can vote on matters in Westminster that do not apply to the occupied six. When are we going to hear Jim Allistar complain that assisted dying will not apply to NI?
They can vote on things in Westminster that don't apply in NI, but can't vote on things in Brussels that do apply in NI.

Someone mentioned Tony McEntee. Well known for calling out bullshit and bluffers. It would be some craic.

The hurling is pretty boring compared to the football.

Ulster Council quoted on front page of the Irish News saying there are no plans to downsize the stadium.
So does that fire it back into Stormont, where they're incapable of making a big decision.
They'll still be waffling about it in five years time if this is the strategy.

Please cut your cloth and get on with it.

Great entertainment, but you have to laugh at the ref(s) completely ignoring the rule book.

Quote from: RedHand88 on June 07, 2025, 10:19:36 AMIs it a bit cringe seeing SF asking the Brits for more money?
They do it every week.

Britain is broke. They shrunk their economy with Brexit and now they have weapons to pay for as well as the NHS.  Casement wouldn't make the Top 1000 issues for the average Red Wall Labour MP. So there's absolutely no incentive for them to hand over a penny at the Spending Review, other than to make Hilary Benn go away for another while.  It really is at best crumbs off the table. Or it could be extraordinarily bad expectation management by the Ulster Council, which they are well capable of.

Most of our underage teams get drubbed every year. Cargin got drubbed in the Ulster Club. How would the county team be anything other than near the bottom.
