Quote from: Around the glens on September 17, 2024, 05:18:46 PMDunloy have earned their stripes to play in the senior championship. The fact that their league and championship team is different is no fault of their own.

If they had of been beat out the gate on Sunday you could've said last year was a fluke. Not the case.

Dunloy far from the only club who field league teams greatly different to their first choice championship team.

And why league form not a great gauge for championship.

there's few teams about anywhere who'd have as much of a difference between their leagie form and championship form. While the relegation does appear a complete mess they are a hard one to cater for. They are borderline a junior team leaguewise.

How many clubs lose the calibre of players that dunloy lose due to county commitments? Not leaving off their own back, playing for their county.
Seaan nigel keelan coby Ryan mcgarry eoin o Neill eoin mcferran aodhan mcgarry?

Is Ryan McGarry the young lad from Ballymena? Shouldn't he be playing for them?

Quote from: dec on September 17, 2024, 06:15:05 PMHow are you getting to the start. If you are taking the Staten Island ferry then you will get a look at the statue of Liberty on the way over.

I have run it 8 times, that is the only marathon that I have run so I can't compare it to anything else but I always had a good experience even the time I had a crap time.

I'll just be looking to finish! Getting the midtown manhattan bus with my mate. He's a 2.30 marathon runner so he'll be finished hours before me 😂

Heading in 6 weeks to do the New York marathon. Just need to make it in one piece to the start line! Heading on the Wednesday morning and then leaving on Monday around tea time so a decent amount of time. Has anyone any good tours they'd recommend? Id like to do a tour of Central Park or the likes of Ellis Island. Something that will have a few interesting stories. Don't think I want a rushed fly by tour of the city where you're only stopping at the monument or site for a quick photo. Looking to do the usual things like 9/11 tour, top of the rock, see a show. The Saturday is the day before the marathon so I'll be taking it easy that day and staying off my feet from about 7pm that night. Not a big drinker but will probably head out after mid town on Sunday night after the marathon for some food/drinks if anyone has any good bar/food recommendations.

Quote from: JPGJOHNNYG on September 01, 2024, 01:39:53 PMThey could have scored about 5 by now

Rangers have also had 4 very good chances, lucky they are so shit. Not that impressed with Celtic in a lot of facets of the game

That's as bad a performance I've seen from Sevco. Jesus they're so bad! Rangers had a chance or 2 but Celtic could have had another couple as well. Will be interesting to see where these new men play in the team.

Quote from: bennydorano on August 28, 2024, 01:42:41 PMWas on holidays in Lanzarote a while back there and did a bit of cycling, we stayed in Costa Teguise which is perhaps a bit more exposed than other places but the wind was absolutely horrendous (& I was going out at 7.30am to avoid the worst of it), how anyone can be bothered with that is beyond me, altho the bike shop did say the winds are much worse in high summer. A very distant 3rd in my Canary Islands cycling experience.

Where is your favourite? France surely the best country for the iconic climbs?

Brilliant business from Celtic all the same. Was it £1.5m he was bought for? Let's hope there's 4/5 lads come in asap.

More than likely going to be sitting here raging next week when Celtic have signed 1 player and much weaker going into the season 🤦🏻

Quote from: bennydorano on August 22, 2024, 08:52:51 PMSome ride by Ben O'Connor in La Vuelta today, Pelton caught napping, has near 5 mins on Roglic now. Strong enough rider to have dreams of holding on, but a lot of brutal stages srill to come in savage heat.

The route and heat looks completely brutal!

Doesn't St. Enda's have one of the biggest memberships in Antrim? Surely they have enough boys to fill gaps.

Also, will this finally be the year that Rangers die?

Take the money and run with regards to O'Reilly. If he doesn't he's liable to down tools and be worth f**k all in 6 months, similar to Edouard the other year.
Celtic really do my head in with buying players though. You'd think, they'll spend that 20 odd million of 4 decent players but that won't happen. How many times over the years have they fucked about with transfers and let boys slip past. John McGinn springs to mind. And now as Marty34 has said, they've done the opposite and had to pay more than they should have for Idah. Surely Brendan Rodgers was promised signings? He did some great business the last time he was manager to be fair.

The holylands was always a shit hole. But it's a different sort of shithole now. It used to be more or less all students from country areas. It was serious craic living there, brilliant memories. However, I was down once or twice recently for work related things and it seems that there has been an influx of druggies, ex prisoners and there's a number of half way houses in it now. Not the place it used to be in the 00s.
