First of all I'm completely biased here and i know it. Cavanagh is quite probably the worst pundit in history. His lack of research is appalling, on a par with Spillane and Brolly, but he's just no loquacious enough to cover it up. He has an odd sense of humour. And his sense of place - I.e. talking about grassroots - always seems based on what he reads on Twitter rather than what's happening in an actual club.

So what did he say that's incorrect? From my perspective he's taking swipes and he doesn't have the foggiest what it is he's swiping at. He's just throwing out irrelevances. Joining in on conversation that he doesn't care much about, and accidentally taking it off on a new angle that nobody needs.

Worse than Tony Davis?

Paul "and your just thinking to yourself" Flynn would like a word.

My God, but Flynn is  dull. I seem to just  zone out  any time  he  speaks

Cavanagh can be a bit of a tithead but I'd  rather have him than Flynn

A Group game and us not going well was going to be under 20k at it anyway.

Quote from: seafoid on Today at 12:45:28 PMThe condensed season with all the extra matches in a shorter period of time is the real problem. It's hard to keep up with what is happening and not everything can be televised. GAA people have developed expectations about what will be available. And the football product isn't what it used to be either.

Agree with everything here. People's expectations need to be reined in. It is ridiculous to expect every single game to be free to air all of the time, but that seems to be the hill that some are dying on.

Quote from: Rossfan on Today at 02:29:17 PMYou mean not providing free entertainment to casual armchair followers of gaelic games ?
No I mean there's elderly people, gave their life to GAA, not well enough to go to games that can't afford to pay and families can't afford it or to take crowd kids to a local pub.

What size do you think that very specific demographic is?

And I'm actually very much pro migrant

My biggest issue is that the fraudsters are taking resources and good will away from the legitimate asylum seekers/international protecting applicants.

The inability/unwillingness of the government to enforce existing laws has and their complete dishonesty when asked basic questions have created a tindex box.

Rory and the wife divorcing - not the greatest prep for a major you'd imagine.

I'm happy to put on a small bet the game will not throw at 5pm !

If the GAA want casual fans to go then it's a stupid time. I'll be there as always for a Roscommon game but I'll be watching something else before hand having a pint. Will 15k even attend the game ?

There was 30K at the game last year and it included the Dublin v Galway Leinster hurling game. There was a decent smattering of maroon around Croke Park that day.

Cawley was the man in the middle for the AI semi between Derry and Galway in 2022. Thought he was v harsh on Derry in the first half that day. Just hope he is anonymous on Saturday evening, but I'd doubt it.

If silly eejits want to be stuck watching fantasy games on TV instead of being out in the air watching real people playing our national games......
I know where I'll be from 3pm that afternoon.

At least, unlike last year, we'll have a big, enthusiastic Donegal crowd and a confident, motivated team!

There'll be nothing in this again. A point or three either way. Hopefully a calm, still day for our long range shooters!
