Quote from: Milltown Row2 on January 03, 2024, 11:32:09 AMWas there a penalty call last night at the start of the West Ham game when there was contact in the box and nothing awarded, the commentators used the Liverpool penalty incident saying there is no consistency on the calls..

Didn't see it but on the radio the pundits said the difference was the ref didn't call it so VAR didn't it intervene . But had the Ref called it the VAR would have stood by the Ref's call!

Its getting harder to work out

It this stage VAR can be considered a failed catastrophe, any one moaning about Liverpool being on the right side this time seems two forget they have been robbed of 6 points this season plus the arsenal hand ball incident. The biggest winners so far this year on bad decisions is Man City, everyone else top 4 can have a grievance for sure.

Went to see the Ferrari movie at Christmas. 10% of it is about the racing mostly in the 50s. The rest is about mistresses, wives and illegitimate sons and all the ramifications. Very disappointing as was Oppenheimer TBH. Only decent movie I seen this year was "killers of the flower moon"

Quality has shifted to the series format now, I am currently watching "Slow Horses" which is great entertainment.

Quote from: thewobbler on January 02, 2024, 11:21:56 AMIt doesn't make you a weaker person or Liverpool a weaker club, to be able to occasionally admit when a Liverpool player is in the wrong.

In fairness he did hit the deck but only after the nukecastle goalie fluffed his lines on pulling him down. Lay your hand on anyone like that and they are gonna milk it. You'd think this penalty made a difference to the result listening to the bitching on here.

The Republican base and Trump supporters in particular would be very pro Israeli and wouldn't have an ounce of sympathy for the Palestinians

Haha. What good has Biden's sympathy done for Palestinians. America is a dictatorship. Two old white men fight it out each year, both in the pockets of big business and powerful lobby groups so no matter who wins it's pretty much the same outcome. Two bald men fighting over a comb.

There is no-one in US politics more rabidly Zionist than Biden.

Irelands metal will be tested the next time that butcher intends to visit here. Will mayo welcome him with open arms after his contributions to the worst slaughter of this century.

Quote from: Milltown Row2 on January 01, 2024, 11:02:08 PMBookies don't get much wrong, 8/11 City 9/4 Liverpool

It's in Liverpools hands

Your odds have City raging favourites.
Ah that's too complicated for him! And if City win all their games they win. They have the advantage of having done it time and again, and coming back from further behind last year. But I think Newcastle will put it up to them next game. Great to be involved in the race. So far at least

The bookies have city favourites (1/4 is raging favourites) because their second half of the season has proved to be their winning of the leagues in the past.

But I haven't said anything wrong, at this stage, it's in Liverpools hands.

If you think that's complicated I can't help you

All this hangs on De Bruyne, if he comes back and stays injury free and plays well then everyone else is playing for second. He's that good a player and leader. Wish we had him.

Quote from: J70 on January 01, 2024, 09:27:31 PMNunez could have had a hattrick tonight. Team could be four or five up. This could be costly if they don't pull it out in the last half hour.

Darwin Nunez couldn't finish an ice cream.
Miss the screamer he scored in the previous league game? You should look it up.
Also put the opener on a plate for Salah this evening.
8 goals and 8 assists this season (5 and 6 in the league) makes him the second highest score contributor in the team. Not too bad.

You can stat the shit out of him, he's possibly the worst finisher since big Andy, love his work rate but feck me, put the ball in the back of the net, he was bought to score goals, not miss them or lay them off for someone else
16 goal contributions this season. Only an idiot would compare that to Andy Carroll. But work away!

Oh I'll work away alright, he's Liverpools most expensive player ever and bought to score goals. He has the pace and team mates that gives him the opportunity to score many times in a match. He's young but a natural finisher is born with the gift. Hope he proves me wrong I'd love to see him go on a run.

Quote from: Milltown Row2 on December 30, 2023, 11:51:55 PMPlayers are out of position out of form and bad formations or inconsistent formations.

How poor was last years PL if this rabble made top four handily?

De Gea was in goals. There was the bounce of a new Manager. United were in the less squad taxing Europa League. Part of how well Liverpool are doing this season in the Premier League has to do with them being in the Europa League.

No the reason why Liverpool are doing so well and United are not is that United repeatedly spend obscene amounts of money on absolute guff. Klopp and Liverpool are alot more astute in the transfer market than ETH.

Don't know about that bro, Darwin cost a lot of money and his finishing is pretty average, kieta was a howler for the money. There has been a few in the klopp era. Having said that the likes of Suarez ( before klopp  ) and Salah were absolute bargains. I wish we would of bought Garnacho, absolute peach of a player and so very young.

Was down yesterday and C'dall could have won only for,

Shot relentless wides in a ten minute period when they were on top.

Needed to be more than 3 up with that breeze

The Ref wasn't giving them all their frees for sure.

Maybe landed to much high ball in on Hugh Lawlor in first half when the breeze suggested shooting from further out

Great effort all the same and great game to watch.

Uncle Sam decides who it's OK to massacre and who it isn't

Though Srebrenica doesn't even touch the sides in comparison to this

In Srebrenica they spared the women and children

The Israeli genocide machine is obliterating anything that moves

They didn't spare young male children and there was plenty of rapes reported. It took twenty years to bring those animals to justice, let's hope todays war criminals ( western powers ) eventually get charged.
