An heir for Hewitt, hooray. I see none of you savages had the good sense to mark yesterdays great news with a thread of its own. Prince DeSean is doing fine by all accounts.

General discussion / RTE player Beta
« on: December 20, 2018, 11:47:03 PM »
I use RTE player a lot to get my news, live sports etc. The service was working well up until yesterday when they changed unannounced to a new beta system. Now the player just plays for 10 seconds and stops for ten seconds non stop. Is anyone else having these issues? Is it just my computer? Or is it just teething problems for the new service? I might get in touch with rte but just thought I would try on here first to see if I was alone in having problems.

Bill Cosby has been found guilty of drugging and molesting a woman.

He of course faced many other similar accusations. It is about time he was locked up.

General discussion / Drug taking in athletics

The above is the internet address of an article claiming that 30% of athletes at the 2011 world athletics championships had taken banned substances in their athletics careers. Shocking to some if true, this is a sad indicator of how low the morals of modern day athletes are

General discussion / Assassination of family in France
« on: September 08, 2012, 12:22:24 PM »
I find this case to be intriguing so I am starting a topic on it. A husband and wife murdered in the company of their children one of whom is seriously injured. A woman in their company hardly known to the little girl possibly an Iraqi or of Iraqi origin also murdered in the car with them. A French cyclist passing by also shot to wliminate him as a potential witness.

One theory is: All this is discovered by a plain clothes member of the British military. An RAF man out for a cycle. Given the Iraqis were assassinated and discovered by a plain clothes member of the British Military, Britain having been at war with Iraq in the recent past, some people are beginning to think the British had them under surveillence. The RAF man seeing the injured child collapse on the road in front of him was obliged to call it in. He might not have if he hadn't seen an injured child.  It was a competent maybe professional assassination with no chances taken, no adult witnesses left alive.

The other theory is that the family were rich when they were in Iraq and their could be a lot of money connected to the family. Killing off one half of the family would make the other half a lot richer.

Does anybody have any opinions on this?

General discussion / Tia Sharpe - Murder
« on: August 11, 2012, 04:51:37 PM »
It looks like her own family killed her. The police searched the house three times before finding the body. The granny probably knew what was going on all along imho. It was a very strange story to follow on the news.

General discussion / internet security questions - Bongo
« on: June 29, 2012, 12:27:28 AM »
For only three euro a question Bongo will reveal by text all the answers to the questions you've answered to safeguard passwords over the years, name of your first pet etc. I don't know who will want to know what they already know for three euro a question???

It makes you wonder who has access to all that info.
