2-0 what a finish by Mane after a dreadful first touch.

Good first half. Should be four up, at least. Much, much better. Lots of movement and quick passing

5-0 two in a couple of minutes from Van Dijk.

dec

He's our centre half, he's our number 4
Watch him defend and we watch him score...
He can pass the ball, calm as you like...
He's Virgil Van Dijk, he's Virgil Van Dijk

Geoff Tipps

Great performance tonight. Intensity back. TAA and Fabinho exceptional.

Why did other clubs stand back and let Southampton buy Virgil Van Dijk for an absolute steal....

A real mystery....

One Celtic poster here (lynchbhoy) said only last week that Boyata is a better defender than Virgil!

There were plenty on here saying he was overpriced.

The term "absolute steal" certainly wasn't being used.

Good to see the energy and zip back in the play from the very start to the end.  They looked up for it from the start last night.  Maybe the penny's dropped after the last few flat performances.
That's just, like your opinion man.

They drew with an the form team in the Premier league in Man Utd and Bayern Munich. It's not like they were playing Huddersfield and Cardiff

TAA addition is huge in that respect. I know he's got things to learn defensively but when VVD is there beside him he looks a much more settled player. His energy levels are fantastic. But would be a great time to start getting a run together of good form to try and cancel out the nerves.

Completely agree TAA still has some flaws defensively more down to his young years but the extra attacking dimension he brings means they can be dangerous down both wings.
Another performance or two like that and no more injuries could keep the PL tight to the end.
