Division 1 has never been as competive. U can do down with 5 points. Only Mickey Harte can save Tyrone now.

Good win for Armagh. But they really only came into the clear at the end of the first half, Westmeath made a game of it for the first 8 minutes of the second half, but McEvoy saved the goal and Westmeath fluffed several chances for points. After that the Westmeath heads went down and it was easy enough for Armagh. While it is nice to know that Stevie and Aaron are in good form, we already knew they had class. More interesting is the performance of the newer players, Swift did himself no harm in the second half although he was poorly marked. Henderson showed some speed to getting to the ball, but invariably immediately lost it with an awful pass. TK had a poor enough day, in Cross you'd expect him to slot over frees. Vernon did good work, but should sometimes pass instead of running up the field.
There is a long road ahead, but things look acceptable at this stage.

U still can't beat class though.

There should be accountability and financial probity in all organisations, never mind a multi million pound operation like the GAA, and oit seems to be amateurish in terms of financial collections etc. I mean its not that long ago that an Ulster Official was stopped and robbed in broad dayliight on a main thoroughfare outside Dungannon when he was coveying the gate receipts of an Ulster semi final. How silly was that?
Yet surely the gaa's accounts are independently audited annually aong with the control systems etc, so presumably the current systems have been approved, so maybe there are control systems in terms of gate receipts that we are not aware of

That was very silly in hindsight, but hard to predict at the time. It's poss it's still going on in other provinces where one man brings the takings home. Lucky it was Antrim v Cavan (I think), so was before Antrim hit the big time and had the big crowds.

At least there isn't a "Who Can Stop Down Thread" yet.

Good underage players back then were playing for Drumragh on the CBS pitch behind the fire station. Drumragh have relocated, and are a bit out of town these days.
