Quote from: NAG1 on January 21, 2025, 01:16:02 PMMy point is JB referred to a 'way back' which obviously means he has made something clear to RG that he would have to do in order to able to be considered for coaching teams in the future. Is it not more a case that he has a way back that JB approves of? As other posters have said if he had been appointed coach at Naas then he would be back and that was the end of it.
If JB acted unilaterally as GAA President to deter Naas from appointing a coach, as he felt it was wrong, I think it was an inappropriate use of that position. As there are to the best of my knowledge no allegations against RG that relate to the adult safeguarding of male adult GAA teams he should be allowed to coach, as distasteful as some may find this.
Also, whilst it is fine for this high-profile case were allegations and known (although unproven) how is the average club meant to deal with similar issues? The GAA is not the investigative body for domestic violence and whilst educations and initiatives to prevent it are admirable judging members on alleged crimes or indeed proven ones is a step too far.
