It could only happen here, the amount of publicity the titanic gets here and how proud we are of building it,the bloody thing sank on it's first voyage!we want to celebrate a failure and to top that off we name a airport after a man who lets be honest was hardly a pillar of society.is this the way we want to reflect our country?

General discussion / Trophy Kids
March 27, 2009, 09:09:50 AM
i watched this on cha4 last night and could not believe what i was seeing,it seemed the kids were carrying out the fathers own dreams.one father took his son to a Ferrari garage to show him what he was able to buy when he became world number 1 golfer  :o.
i know these were the extreme but do parents really put pressure on there kids to be successful in sport even though the kids are not interested?

GAA Discussion / Great escape-club or county
December 19, 2008, 12:53:51 PM
what memory's do you have of your team getting out of a match with a win or draw,i remember derry v monaghan 1993 and derry went on to win the all-ireland,down v derry 1991,down kick a last minute free to draw and also go on and win the all-ireland.my own club bellaghy have had a couple of great escapes against dungiven and slaughtneil and went on to win the championship.

i just cant understand this crap about people from ireland referring to man u and liverpool as "we" or "us",it really winds me up,i have to admit i like to watch man utd on telly and would keep a eye for there results but i certainly don't going around saying "ronaldo was good for us today".whats the general consensus with you lads who follow English or for that matter Scottish teams?
