That game againt the Dubs last night was a tough experience for our lads.

They were blitzed in the first half. Dublin far superior with and without the ball. Don't think they lost one of their own kickouts and turned over plenty of ours.

In fairness to the Laois lads they made a game of the second half and outscored the Dubs.

Next up is Offaly next Wednesday evening. The loser of that one will be out.

Hopefully our lads bounce back.

Big crowd there yesterday but not an ideal spot to hold such a game.

Best of luck to the U20 footballers tonight and the minors tomorrow night.

Are either of these groups expected to do well this year?

Credit where it's due. Promotion in his first campaign and back to Div 3.

Hopefully we have a decent run in the Tailteann Cup this year.

Really need to be beating Offaly at home. Wouldn't fancy going to Westmeath needing the win to get to the final.

The extra game against Carlow is welcome and there should be an air of optimism heading into the the Offaly game.

It's a bit ambiguous.

GAA website says that the new `1B will consist of the top 2 in 2a while they say that the new Div 2 will consist of the teams that finish 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th in Div 2a as well as top 3 from Div 2b.

So it is the top two in the table that are promoted or the two teams that play in the Div 2a league final??

Top two teams will be in the new Div 1b league with 5 other teams who will come down from the current Div 1a and 1b. Bottom two in each and the worst placed 4th placed team.

Likely to be Dublin, Waterford, Westmeath, Offaly and Westmeath.

Laois can't be caught now as they are 3 points clear in 2nd place with one game to go. My understanding is that the top two go up. Where did the 2nd playing 3rd come from?

Is there a league final match for top 2 in Div 2 this year?

Offaly and Westmeath have both put in good performances. We've struggled to be honest.

Not sure that we've improved on last year based on our league performances.

If Maher has put all his eggs into the 'peaking' at the right time basket we'd really need to hit the ground running in championship. With Westmeath the last game, up in Mullingar, we really need to be beating Offaly on April 21st in O'Moore Park

Laois came through the match as predicted. I take it Cahir got a good reception. He made the trip from London every other weekend for the county not so long ago.

Knockbeg beaten unfortunately. Naas the better team.
Naas Gaa becoming one of the Leinster kingpins.

You can't ask anymore from the team than winning.

They have done as much as is possible and promotion should be all we are looing for right now.

If/when that's achieved they can then turn their attention to the Tailteann Cup.

Great to see the public getting behind the team and special mention to Laois Gaels for the efforts in making the match nights that bit more special for Laois juveniles.
