GAA Discussion / Bust up on Kerry team trip to NY?
January 02, 2017, 07:20:13 PM
Any truth in the rumours/anyone know anything about/can confirm that two Kerry players allegedly had a big bust up in New York on the team trip recently? Ayone hear anything? One of the players was POTY a couple years ago supposed to be involved.

Does the GAA care about the ordinary club player anymore? Every year we have the same discussion/problems. Club players left idle for weeks even months when the pitches are in prime condition. Then when games come around they are often blitzed in weeks. We have seen farcical situations teams playing a provincial match the day after winning county title.  Then you see the GAA trying to bring in group stages for All Ireland Football which is another kick in the teeth for ordinary club player. The GPA was initially setup for welfare players now openly shows disregard for clubs. They are more interested in making trips to America looking for benefactors to their corporate society. Yet again another GAA president has failed to tackle the fixture crisis which is killing our games. In his acceptance speech when he took over role as president O Fearghail said that that the 'Four F's' will underpin his presidency with 'fixtures, facilities, finance and family' central to this ethos. We are seen too many gaps between intercounty games. Too many county boards are bowing to county managers meaning players are been wrapped up in cotton wool. I am sceptical about this new  CPA. Will it be a forum for senior footballers? Will they listen to need to needs of the junior b footballer? GAA needs to forget about Sky Sports and remember the grassroots of GAA

GAA Discussion / Stephen Rochford manager of the year?
September 29, 2016, 11:27:56 PM
What a guy. First off all took a average Corofin and won an club All Ireland . Has done a great job with Mayo and surrounded himself with a great backroom with Tony McEntee, Donie Buckley, Seanie Carey and Maurice Horan on limited resources. Throw in Jim McGuinness doing a few training sessions the week before final. The best tactical manager who ever had and always keep the opposition guessing. Has never lost a game in Croke Park as manager and will become the Mayo first manager to win All Ireland titles at inter county and club level . He will go down in history and our greatest ever manager. Hats off to Stephen Rochford and definitely manager of the year? Mayo win on Saturday will be than bigger Donegal beating dubs in 93

GAA Discussion / Have the Dubs peaked too early?
September 28, 2016, 08:26:40 PM
We see all nonsense about how dubs didn't show the last day. I think this is very disrespectful to Mayo as they played them off the park. Have the dubs peaked too early?? The Kerry game seemed to be their final. Brogan, Flynn and McAuley are past their prime. Connolly is in Keegan pocket and McManman and Kilkenny are overrated. Throw in the  O'Shea's, the O'Connors and Andy Moran are due a big game for us. The dubs with their blanket defence dont score goals anymore and Moran and Aidan O'Shea are due a purple patch. ater. We have the dubs rattled, they have resorted to ex dublin players calling out Lee Keegan. Will be make saturday win more sweater. Sam will be crossing the Shannon Sunday night. Will the victory homecoming be Saturday or Sunday night? We wont be sober for a week- 65 years of frustration to be celebrated. With u21 coming through this group could be going for 2 in a row. Michael Hall, Stephen Coen, Evan Regan, Conor Loftus and Conor O'Shea will be firmly established in 12 months time
