While we'd all want to see our best 15 on the field it is good to have some decent options from the bench. Having the likes of Downey and Lyons to come in if needed is what's required nowadays. Most of us would differ on a starting 15 but realistically it's a 18-20 man game and good lads on the bench are important.
We had alotof debutants in the football against Louth and things didn't work out. Maybe a slight bit of caution regarding experience and not throwing too many lads in from the start.

Without the Fitzgibbon lads i assume but what's the point playing Tipp if we're being hammered like that. Won't do one bit for confindence.

A draw for Carlow IT yesterday with Picky knocking over the dead balls scoring 9 points (1 from play). Hopefully he brings that accuracy in for the county as we'll need it.

Remind me who they were Hesh. I assume it was when George Doyle was togging out.  Fair enough Timahoe have had the reps on the team but they were yoyoing berween senior and inter.

Meant to say fair play to Courtwood, 2 starters from an intermediate club. Doesn't happen too often.

Interesting selection. Strong centrefield with Meaney. Donie at full forward, Lowry Starting.

The draw has been unkind to us considering the injuries we have.

We will need lads back as soon as possible because after Louth it's the division favourites Armagh and Tipp in quick succession. If these games go against us we can forget about any chance of going up.

Ballylynan have wanted to do their own thing for a while. There has been an increase in population in Ballylynan over the past few years so they would have the numbers. The fact that numbers are so poor from with the Arles clubs probably influenced this. There is very few from 12yrs up to U21 in the parish but there are numbers(for now) under the 12 age group. Geographically Barrowhouse would be close particularly to Killeen. It could well see a joining of the clubs again in the coming years.
