Good win, but a very tough quarter-final w/ Dublin in Parnell Park. Looking at the whacking Offaly got, too...

Tbh I think it said more about how bad carlow were than how good laois were.
If we stay playing like that no team will fear us.

Midfield and half forward line need to step up a bit

Strange that it took so long to give subs a run considering the winning margin

Dublin game 3pm next Saturday in Portlaoise.

Do or die.

There was bound to have been a few nerves before the game Saturday having been beaten the last day however they put up a good score in the end. At this age group they have to be mixing it with Dublin, Wexford or Killkenny to improve and they have earned the right to be there.

Beat Dublin on Saturday and they are in a semi final. They've had 2 games to get themselves prepared for that and the bonus is having it at home.

For those who have been at both games how has the management performed on the line?

Also, young Peters, how did he get on?

Hard to know where this team are at. Seemed to have the heads wrong against Offaly and no changes were made when things went wrong. Against Carlow the bench subbed in young Keyes early who was on fire and made a fierce difference but then didn't make any more changes until very deep into the second half despite some poor performances and the need to give some more experience to other players. Also, Lee Cleere was carrying an injury in the second half when the game was in the bag and should have been given a break given his importance to the team.

In general, the team will need to display a much higher level of accuracy and will need to be less sloppy. They seem to drop a little too much ball or take too many goes to get the ball into the hand which will cause problems against Dublin. However, if the first touch is right they have a good chance.

INDIANA

Dublin had a nightmare against Wexford at the weekend. For  a team that won the Arrabawn it was a disastrous result.

It's probably the best Dublin minor hurling team I've ever seen on paper . But it's in danger of becoming consigned to the rubbish bin as a foot-note.

A huge game for them on Saturday. Serious questions to be asked of the management if they don't win on Saturday because they'll have pissed away the best team we've had for years at this level

Sounds ominous for our lads. A lot happens between 14 and 18 though. The Forrestal and Arrabawn are no great yardstick for minor.

Have to agree with this.  A good team coming up along but in danger of being messed up.

some of the management decisions are puzzling.  Why Cleere and Geaney not brought off earlier when they were carrying injuries was just crazy.

Rumour has it some of the lads were out the night before so if this is true it doesnt bode well for the commitment of the team

Nothing wrong with firing up unsubstantiated rumours about lads under the age of 18 eh. Good man.

Actually heard it from one of the panel so maybe no so "unsubstantiated"

U18 or not if lads are lining out for their county you would expect some sort of commitment and if there is a rule in place its for all of the panel.

You "heard it from a panel member, ah well, thats as good as fact so. Are you for real?

You heard they were "out". The horrible little hoores, they'd have been better off locked up in their room by their mammys drinking hot cocoa by 8PM.

Stop spreading rumours about children, its not big and its not smart.

Don Draper

I'll leave it at that, best of luck to the lads this weekend, nothing to fear about Dublin, Arrabawn means f**k all at this stage, unless your lactose intolerant.

LOVEGAA

Yeah leave it at that...

They are not U10's they are on the county Minor panel.

Cant play/train with their clubs but ok to be out night before a championship match  ???

I think Indiana was referring to the Dublin minors in his post!
