Commiserations to DT yesterday, they certainly divided opinion in recent weeks.

Has anyone commented about the awful punditry by Redknob on Saturday?  Was adamant Ferdinand cleaned out Suarez and should have walked despite numerous replays showing what a great tackle it was.  Gives no balance to the panel as he was obviously there for the Liverpool angle, Souness would have been much better.

Was Redkanpp not saying Ferdinand got the balll 1st, then Suarez got a touch and subsequently Ferd's follow through took Suarez out?

Far too hard to call and no way the ref could have seen this as you could barely see it with multiple replays and the the actual area being maghified.

Looking at it in real time it was obviously a good tackle but that is my opinion only I suppose.

Not that it matters now but one of the Times journos on Twitter was adamant Ferdinand got the ball with his right foot and took Suarez down with his other leg, making it a foul and probable red card. I haven't seen it again so don't know.

Tackling is almost outlawed nowadays anyway!

There is a degree of bullying on this thread, subtle as it may be.  Everyone is entitled to their opinion no matter how ridiculous others consider it to be.  It is the joy of anonymous posting FFS.

Hold on a minute there. No one is captive here. No one is being forced to post or read the discussion. But if you offer up your opinion in a public forum like this you are not entitled to not have it challenged. If challenges to your opinions upset you, then don't post them.

Slow down there!! Where have I said challenging an opinion is wrong?  The past 6/7 posts on this thread sum up exactly what way the debate shoud progress, it is the sniping at other posters for their beliefs/views without proper debate that annoys me.

Do people not think that a liquidated Rangers would do Celtic more harm than good?

Surely attracting players would become pretty much impossible and the 'old firm' brand would disappear, as hard as it is to say we need Rangers to remain at least competitive imo

Na, I think it would be better for us and the SPL as a whole. Rangers ruined the SPL. David Murray came in with all that money in the 90s with no other club in the league able to compete with them. Before he did this, the league was very competitive. If the huns do die, I think the other clubs will start to thrive again. Maybe we will dominate the league but at least there will be more teams competing for the European places thus providing more money to the other clubs. An example of something like this happening would be Lyon dominating the French League in the last decade. The league was able to continue to compete in Europe

Couldn't disagree more FG, the outside interest (where most of the cash is i.e TV) would decline if Rangers folded, I think they are mutually dependent.

And everyone is entitled to challenge those opinions. And if someone wants to engage in debate, they have to be prepared for the possibility that flaws in the basis of their opinion might be exposed. We're all big boys and girls.

I heard that McClean doesn't have the paperwork ready yet to be eligible to play, is that true?

McLean has been very impressive so far, I would have him in the squad for the Euro`s but Trap will stick with that same squad that got him there even though a lot of them aren`t playing regularly. Which is probably fair enough tbh, as they were the one`s who got us there and they should be given there chance on the big stage

Always an injury along the way so I would say if his form keeps us he must be in with a shout, Hunt has went backwards in the past 2yrs.
