If they're not gonna bring in Keaney Scholesy Giggsy Butty then they need to go another route with wans Wilcox has had success with before, maybe Sherwood and Ripley

Just cause you win so many titles and European cups doesn't make you a good manager.

Tony Baloney

Anyone know why he was kept on at the end of last season? His sacking was an inevitability.

Obviously whoever they were looking for decided not to bother.

Quote from: RedHand88 on October 28, 2024, 03:53:07 PMMan united transfer spend since Ten Hag took over has been over half a billion,

Theyve spent over £1billion in the last ten years.

But it's the Glazers fault...

Well run clubs spend their money wisely.  Manchester United have been one of the worst run clubs in the World under the ownership of the Glazers and they might have cared more about running the club properly had any of that billion came out of their own pockets.

From the Manchester Evening News.   Ruben Amorim has agreed in principle to take over as Man United manager. Now down to United and Sporting to agree compensation package.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

That the fella Liverpool didn't want?

According to reports  at the time Amorim's discussions with Liverpool were never seriously advanced with the club always preferring Slot throughout the process and Amorim responded to reports.   "I did not meet with Liverpool for any interview and there's no agreement with any club, it's not true"  "Stop with this story! It's the last time I speak about it".

Other reports claimed Amorim was strongly tipped to replace Guardiola should he leave at the end of the season with his contract up this summer. Journalists now saying with Amorim no longer an option City could push hard to make former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso their new manager.

Few questions if Amorim is the man to take over. Why was he not approached in the summer or identified at that stage? ETH had success in a mediocre league and couldn't deal with the challenges of managing at a higher level United have went for a similar replacement.

Amiron prefers a 3-4-3 formation not sure how this fits with the players that United currently have?  In the ETH era they were continually over run in midfield, do United have the personnel/legs to get away with two playing in midfield?  Where does Fernandes fit into this formation? Who gives the natural balance on the left? Does Harry Maguire become a live option to play in a back three where more comfortable?

Just read an article on BBC website re: Scott Mc Tominay and Napoli.

Paulio Di Canio says all the Man Utd directors should be arrested for letting Mc Tominay go to Napoli.

McTominay has become one of those generals who's won more battles in name than in personal.

When the choice is between keeping one of your starting 11 or FFP, you pick the former

Subsequently bought Ugarte, and then won't play him

Wilcox, Dan and Sir Jim - not a clue between them
