Another win for Newcastle last night. They are flying. Are they in the title race?

They've led 6 times at Xmas and closed the deal once.

Eh? They have 19 league titles?
Read the quoted posts and try again.

I did and I'm still lost. Did they not lead at Christmas for any of the 18 other times they won the league or have I got that wrong?
You arent making any sense.
You're right about one thing, you are lost.

What does being top at Christmas really mean though? Its nonsense. Not even half way through the season.

They have Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle and Spurs all to play in the next few weeks.

I've always thought this leading at Christmas thing is a bit of nonsense.
Probably a Sky Sports invention to drum up hype and lapped up by people who know no better.
Its not even half way through the season really based on number of games most clubs will have played at that stage.
Who cares FFS.

Thought Liverpool came back well, took 3 or 4 top class saves to stop them winning.
Great game for the neutral. Great to see Forest doing well.

So fitting the scorer of match winning penalty.
Yeah thought he was very good today when he came on. 5 super penalties as well.
Does everyone love him now after being booed off a few games ago!

Calling things as they are such as "Liverpool's title to lose" is not shite talk and the poor mouth Liverpool talk displayed on here however is shite talk.

A big 👋 @jcpen who's living rent free in my head

It's not "poor mouth". It's basic common sense. Liverpool still have 19 games to play, including Arsenal at home, City, Chelsea, Forest, Brighton, Villa etc away.  Injuries derailed them last season; they could easily do so again. This time two years ago Arsenal surrendered an almost identical lead to City. United were eight points clear in 2012 with four or five games left. Liverpool were five ahead of City with four left in 2014.

Its half a season of premier league football, not the last five minutes of a cup final with one team three goals and a man up.

Has been poor mouthing without a doubt namely with Laoislad other two personas.

If any derailment happens it still requires a serious challenger to capitalised.  You have given examples of teams who lost titles that was theirs to lose in the past and that's fine however can you name a serious challenger for the 2nd half of this season? I can't and with that in mind I expect Liverpool to win this seasons league title with a few games to spare.
This fella from Laois must really have hurt you and that other fella 😂

Quote from: Captain Obvious on January 05, 2025, 07:13:40 PMPoor result for League champions to be at home to what was labelled by Gary Neville just last week as "the worst pound-for-pound football team in the Premier League"

Classic Roy Keane after the game." Trent Alexander Arnold will be going to Tranmere Rovers after that performance today"

I'm not surprised someone like you hangs on every word Gary Neville says  ;D
He also in August said Man United would finish ahead of Liverpool this season.

Enjoy the draw and move on, your next game whomever that is against is where Man United need to turn up.

Are you saying Gary Neville was wrong again?

As a neutral I watched the game in the local pub that was filled with Liverpool supporters who was all in a confident mood before the game and told me they were expecting their team to hammer Manchester United.  Not to worry as today's poor result will be replaced tomorrow with knowing Liverpool should win this league title with a few games to spare.

Are you not in here day after day talking the same nonstop shite as thon boys in the pub?
There was no boys in any pub ffs.

Don't be daft, games gone if that's a red.

I was impressed with Man United today, Superfans like Captain Obvious will be disappointed not to win that. As brave as they were going forward I think if they had of been a little braver then Liverpool were absolutely there for the taking.

As a neutral the second half was great, was like a proper Liverpool v Man United game, and after the hammerings Man United have gotten off Liverpool the past few seasons it was great to see a competitive league game between them.

Man United should definitely be encouraged and maybe even second half of the season push for European places if they don't as expected win the Europa League of course.

Quote from: J70 on January 04, 2025, 07:37:16 PMBy many accounts, this game won't go ahead tomorrow. Freezing rain forecast going to make travel unsafe for fans.
Won't suit Liverpool, games backing up for them, still have to play the postponed Everton game.
