"Next stop" everyone stares at them in the taxi..

Prods said next stop for Black hacks we just rapped the windy.

With a 50p when I used to get them from Castle street to Cavendish St.

I digress.

Anyone forced to do things like your Easter duty which I think entailed going to confession, visiting the graveyard and stations of the cross?

Was dragged to  confession and stations up until a certain age ,  then said feck that.

Don't believe I've been to confessions in  probably 30 years.  I don't think too many go nowadays do  they? Even the older folk

Graveyards, I would  visit  every few weeks, and on birthdays, anniversaries and Christmas. I'm not religious now , but I  like to visit graves as I think it's important to  remember those  who went before ,  and all they did for us.

I go to the graveyards at night. Maybe 11/12 at night. Find it the most peaceful place you'll get. Extra nice on a nice frosty night. Something about the lights on the graves, the fact that usually there's no one else around, peace and no distractions. I'd recommend it.

Wife thinks I'm nuts tho.

Why? The only distinct thing about SF will have ended. FF and FG will suit Ireland as well then are they do now and if people people want a left option there will be real ones.
Got it in one lad.
There may have to be some kind of power sharing anyway.

But back to the weekend just gone it seems SF really won this election per their spokespeople here.
Who were missing for a few days!?)

Quote from: imtommygunn on December 03, 2024, 10:22:21 AMAbsolutely. About two months ago it looked like they were completely finished and look what happened in that election. This board was just about how they were dropping and they were gone - that , for me , was a big result for them.

On Twitter maybe, and that's not the real world.

You seriously thought SF were finished over the head of an unknown former press officer being suspended by SF (rightly) & a Senator from the North being a creep ?

You may have had unionists up here creaming themselves, it was never going to move the needle with voters in the south

I never thought they were finished but some did and the polls were only trending downwards. Also I wouldn't have said that specific incident but if you were to believe some people on this board in particular it would have been their stance on immigration that was the thing that had sent them spiralling downwards and that specific incident was just another kick.

Also the media tell you what they want to tell you. The media in the south is anti SF and will paint this as horrendous for them because they didn't get into power. For me this election was a decent one for SF. Ultimately they will have wanted power yes but it was still a strong one for them.

I say none of this as a pro SF person  ;)

This is it. The reality is it was neither success nor complete failure. For every SFer who'll paint it as a success, you'll have the RossFan's trying to say the opposite and ignoring they are the 2nd largest party.
MLMcD did well in the last few weeks but she grates on me in general and I think a change might be good for the party. Whether that happens or not....

Looks that way. Given the ff/ FG background of some of the independents, should be easily managed.

You are as boring as my Uncle Jerry, and by christ he would bore you to tears, hats off
It was nearly funny the first time. Now just spam. As funny as a dose of the clap.

That said they were excellent in the title winning season. He's been hit and miss there since then but fingers crossed
Maybe it was the title winning year. Thought it was when VVD was out but your prob right.

Quote from: trileacman on November 30, 2024, 09:23:32 AMGomez is a poor centre back, average right back and oddly enough a good left back.

He was at the centre of the 7-2 shambles against Villa. He's really not a good centre half, given he can't judge the flight of the ball in the air at all.
The year VVD was out I thought he stood in well. As a back up I'd be content enough with him. That said Konate is a big loss. Playing really well.

QuoteThe article, however, doesn't say the COVID-19 vaccine is to blame for the rise in deaths. Rather, it says the year-over-year increase can be attributed to COVID-19 and an aging population.

Funny, the articles I read stated Covid was to blame for the increased death rate in 2022.
Haven't seen any credible articles blaming the vaccine. But would be interested in reading one if you had it?

They've destroyed it.

It might get more interesting the last couple of rounds but the reality is its likely to be the middle tier teams fighting it out for a couple of spots with maybe one or two "big" teams needing a win. Same as every other year, a money making racket before Christmas and the real competetion only starts in Feb/March

This is my take too. The group stages have been a bore for quite some time. It's just a different type of boring now. They didn't destroy it ; they just failed to resuscitate it
The old format had issues, but you still had the traditionally big team slipping up and falling into the Europa. Or a team getting a couple of draws and needing to eke out a win in the final game.
Just find the current set up a farce.

Could this not happen after every election? Given it could just all be p!ssed of Tories voting. Wouldn't be hard to get the numbers after any election.

Should have been a black card for the Clann penalty - clear goal scoring opportunity

Falling for every trick in the book

Errigal fond of the mouthing in this game. No7 chatting to Kelly on the way off followed by the same stuff against Turbitt along the sideline minutes later

Not something I would associated with them to be honest but no doubt someone will tell me different

Tyrone teams are well known at this stage. It has to form part of your plan and I think CE were naive. CE were the better footballing team but lack of experience cost them. EC v Kilcoo will be interesting.
Armagh wans losing the run of themselves a wee bit me thinks.

CE missed too many in final stages with a few blocked down as well. Bit more patience and they could have edged out a win there. Conditions not good and sizeable impact on the level of football.
