Have to disagree with this bizarre assessment. Potentially 45 million on a player who as it stands isn't a starter. Would be understandable if he was some 18 year old wonderkid with huge potential,but he's almost 24 and unlikely to improve dramatically.

Sorry to hijack thread - do garages (standard size pretty much) need planning permission El Cuervo?

Depending on the size, but you can build a garage without needing Planning Permission if you meet the following criteria:


The garage is used for domestic purposes only. 
The ground area covered by the garage/car port and any other buildings within the boundary of the property, excluding the original house, is not more than half the total area of the property.
No part of the garage is in front of the principal or side elevation of the original house that faces onto a road.
The maximum height of the garage/car port is 4 metres.
The maximum eaves height of the garage/car port is 2.5 metres if it is within 2 metres of the property boundary.
No part of the garage is within 3.5 metres of the boundary with a road to the rear of the house.

A friend of mine is have a sun room extension done 3x3m that way he doesn't needed planning permission apparently, 14,000 and he's doing the wiring himself and family doing the plumbing. I'd imagine one radiator and lighting and a socket or two required for that space.

Would it cost that much if you did all the donkey work? Foundations sourced the materials, paying a bricky to take it to roof level and a joiner for the his end and so on?

Don't know the in's and out's of planning but i was always under the impression any permanent structure that extrudes from the dwelling that was not part of the original planning would need permission. Unless there are special rules for sun rooms (genuinely not sure)
If you were doing your own foundations would you be competent enough to know how far down to dig and what type of foundations to use? Not being a d**k here just asking.

I'd have very good direction on that side of things, my brother was a bricklayer for 20 years before he downed tools and changed jobs, my youngest brother is a bricklayer and my dad was a bricklayer and had his own squad for many's a year, so plenty advice on the founds I hope and two skilled brickies and I laboured first my dad for over a year when the yard closed.

I was surprised also on the planning, that's why I put a question mark on it, still not sure but the lad getting it done is an electrical contractor.

In a single storey extension :-a.  the extension does not extend beyond the rear wall of the original house by more than 4 metres for a detached house or 3 metres for any other type of house; b.   the height of the extension does not exceed 4 metres; c.   no part of the extension is within 3.5 metres of any property boundary with a road opposite the rear wall of the house.

In an extension with more than one storey: -a.  the extension does not extend beyond the rear wall of the original house by more than 3 metres; b.   no part of the extension is within 7 metres of the property boundary opposite the rear wall of the house; c.   the roof pitch of the enlargement is as far as practicable the same as that of the original house.

If you live out in the sticks is it only acceptable to run as long as you don't entertain yourself with a bit of music or a podcast?

Would it not be a bit dangerous to run on the country roads listening to music?  Even running around the town I prefer to have my wits about me.  There are plenty of nut jobs out there and drivers on country roads can be very close when passing.  I think it's irresponsible of runners to run with ear phones in if they aren't on a pavement.  They're just asking for trouble.

They've pulled a headline out of the fact, people with female genitalia have periods whether they identify as a boy or not.

Is this not the same school where 76 children have identified themselves as transgender?  There seems to be an awful pandering to what I would think is a fad in this school.  76 would be a bit above average would it not?

My son supports United and he said it's strange the amount of stick Jose gets from the press, given that he has won more trophies at United than Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea combined. Strange the relatively free ride Klopp, Pocc et al get.

Liverpool suffered for years with the likes of Roy Hodgson managing, buying mediocre players and owners who were basically running the club into the ground.  Fast forward to now, where you have owners backing a manager who shows a bit of passion towards the club, fans and players.  They are in much more exciting position now than they have for years.  As time goes on expectations will rise, but the club is in a much better shape now than it has been for a long time.

United have a high level of expectancy following Fergie, and whilst it's been nice to see the United fans squirm for a change, I hate everything that Jose represents.  It's all about him and everything else is second.  I enjoyed his first season at Chelsea when he seemed like a breath of fresh air, but after that he just comes across as an egotistical whinge bag.  He'll do his best to sabotage all around him then blame everyone else for his failures.  The only reason he hasn't walked is he's waiting on the big pay off.

United Fans should be a lot more vocal about how he's treating the club.

Not beating United was the last straw for the Southampton board

I regularly go with my daughter and I think it's brilliant. The festivals I go to are very well organised generally and in my opinion it's great for the girls. It's festival and not feis so there's no wigs and limited makeup as the dresses are more plain and stylish so that helps. It's about the girls and not the parents in my experience and of course there's competitiveness but a hell of a lot less than I've seen on the sidelines at u10 and u12 games to be honest. It's a great social thing too and I have made great friends and my daughter has all her best friends through it. It's also great exercise for them if they do it right. She trains 2-3 times weekly for 2 hours so gets plenty of cardio

My experience would be largely from the feis side.  Through sisters dancing and the wife teaching it (now retired from it).  It's a horrible industry and the parents can be a disgrace.  The whole thing has become too much of a pagent/americanised.  The bitching,fighting and politics that goes on is absolutely outrageous and it's largely down to the parents.  It's not a nice environment for children.
