Not officially confirmed but I see Down and Cork Intercounty managers been suspended for 3 months and county losing home advantage. I can't have any arguments with it, perhaps chairpersons should have given same.

Ignoring the public health issues and the "sure everyone was at it" arguments, not everyone was caught.

For too long there has been an ignore and do as we want culture in the GAA. With a club in Waterford losing their county title, the Mayo 3 and now this (I'm imagine on appeal it will reduce as normally the way), have the GAA HQ started to flex a bit, albeit forced to do so by Covid and the greater public reaction plus that of the Government who will be expected to bail them out again.

Wake up louther

will Galway & Monaghan play for a draw?

Playing Dublin is a death sentence.

Someone will have to play the dubs sometime

Yep. Monaghan are a dam fine league team. They're playing a second of three league games tomorrow.
I'm sure one or two other lads will score tomorrow apart from mcmanus.

g a Tyrone man should never be given out about men going down, you never seen that 6ft 3 Sean Cavanagh going to ground like he been took out by a sniper from the stands

Surely a Tyrone man isn't giving another county a hard time about going down easy?

🙄 Very original comments fellas. I've argued on here many times that Sean Cavanagh goes down a lot because he, over the years, is a player who consistently attacked players at pace and yes he has perfected how to buy a free and go down at the right moment. That doesn't mean that nobody else does it. Do you really think the Dubs don't consider the fact that they have the best free kicker in the game and consider it a fairly straight forward way to keep the scoreboard ticking over? Watch them closely and see the amount of times they go down as they take men on, Peadar Andrews does it all the time. I know it's part of the game but when Dubs come out and point the finger like they are angels then the point of a forum like this is to reply.

Ah stop Benny, plenty of Tyrone lads know the swan dive routine. I'm not having a go at Tyrone as I think every county is at it now and it's embarrassing. I'd like to see more people call out their own players but I hear this 'there was contact' shite now. It's an embarrassment to the sport IMO.

Aye, that's my point, we had a Dub on the Tyrone game thread calling out the Tyrone players (which I agree have let themselves down at times with their diving) when it's clear to me that his own lads are fairly nifty at it too and in my view have incorporated into a gameplan to get Rock kicking frees. The man is a complete kicking machine, by the way and it's a joy to watch a fella kick frees off the ground so well.

Aye but that's only a recent blight on the Dubs sure Tyrone have been at it this 15 years or more and the general consensus is they started it!

They may or may not have started it but they perfected it. To be fair they seem to have cut it out this year. There was one of our fans having a pop at T McCann today for diving. To be honest I think that was his previous reputation preceding him as in his occasion he was definitely fouled

Oh they started it, for sure

Always seems to be some sort of unpleasant incident, red card or ugly scuffle in every Monaghan game. Probably the scummiest team of players in Ireland right now.

A good bit like dublin then

All the first round winners lost today in the second round.

20 teams left in the race for Sam.

Unlikely to see that happen again this weekend, 3 of the 1st round winners have a big chance of progressing.

Would expect Armagh to beat Westmeath. Carlow should beat Leitrim too. Cavan v Tipp is tough to call, but Cavan might squeeze through.
Monaghan will definitely beat Wexford, they are the only 1st round winner who will certainly lose.

Monaghan were supposed to definitely bate down......
My mama says this Monaghan team is like a box of chocolates.... You never know which one your gonna get

Seen Monaghan twice now. Once Live and Once on TV. They are motoring in a high gear at the moment. They are also playing on the edge. In Castlebar with their intensity they sorta caught everyone on the Hop including the Ref. They had a game plan, got into the Mayo heads and controlled the game including the referee who they read like a book. They did the same with Kerry yesterday. Sheehan took the bate.

eh? Hughes took 3 blows to the head yesterday and eventually had to go off with concussion. Walshe had to go off after a heavy knock. It was tough football but you can't say that it was just Monaghan that were "on the edge". Same with the castlebar game (that I was at and therefore saw 1st hand). Mayo are no shrinking violets and they gave as good as they got. From a team that many thought had a soft centre they are now as physical as anyone. The ref didn't allow COC to ref the game that night - fair play to him for that.

Hard to know if monaghan are peaking too soon. I don't even know if they are peaking. Kerry were awful yesterday and Mayo weren't much better in Castlebar. They've probably done enough to stay up but I think they should be pushing on and trying to get to the final. A crack at a Div 1 title would be a huge achievement for a small county like Monaghan and they've put themselves in a great position.
If Div 1 status is safe before the last game, then Monaghan will have achieved full satisfaction in the league campaign.
In order to survive in Div I, Monaghan have to take it seriously, none of this Kerry lark of just doing enough. It's deemed a necessary price to pay. If as you say Kerry were awful and Mayo slightly less awful, then by your reckoning winning the Div 1 title would not be a huge achievement.

What would be a big achievement in 2017 would be to win Ulster, going into it as a distant third rated team and with those Cavan hoors biting at our ankles.

Not saying that at all. Kerry were rubbish yesterday - i dont think anyone would argue otherwise. Monaghan beat them but they themselves had plenty to improve on. The gave up 3 great goal chances for a start. My point was I dont know if monaghan have peaked yet in the same way as say roscommon did peak early last year. A div 1 title would be fantastic. I'm old enough to remember 85 !

Now everyone can see it.....  https://youtu.be/06tfa8GvR2E
