In fairness you'd hardly consider Galatasaray plucky underdogs if those figures are right...

The same Galatasaray that haven't won an away game in Champions League since 2013 and haven't scored away from 2015. Turkish teams can make it difficult in Turkey but generally roll over on the road, to concede 3 at home is shocking.

Not their first year. They fielded a IIs team about 8 years ago but only lasted a season or two. This year they've a few senior championship medalists in their ranks and got promotion from 3B so they've had a good return to Junior football. With the numbers they have they should really push on at this level.

Yes an in addition to that would have a few ex county minors to supplement that.

Devlin fairly passive throughout prior to that and thought ardboe full value for win

Be grt to see them beat by Moortown in the play off and down to intermediate

It'll be a tight game. One worth going to.

When is this game fixed for?  Is it a neutral venue.

Any update on Rafferty's injury?

Listened to him on the sideline eye podcast. He seems hopeful he will be back for next season

The way McParland has played this year in club championship dont think he can be overlooked. 

Watched the series with Nolan in Maghaberry on the iplayer thought it was an interesting watch. 

I suspect that back in Ferguson's day he would have sniffed out and swerved past players who had talent but didn't have the required dedication.

Scouting units can collect a million stats on passes completed, assists, sprints, XGs and all that. It's the other intangibles that can dictate how much a player can achieve.
Certain players kick back and relax once they've gotten the cars and the super models.

This signing reminded me of the Sanchez signing when you thought this is nailed on to be successful given his record in Germany and the fact was English and should have hit the ground running.  Absolute spoilt brat and United will have to take a significant loss on him to offload in January or the summer.

I would assume some of them will be involved with Derry u20s and senior panels unless now they have transferred clubs maybe they might don the saffron jersey ??

When you transfer club you have to declare your county as far as I know. 

Errigal Ciaran gave Glen a good rattle last year, if they make it out of the Tyrone minefield they would be hard put away. Few key injuries however.

I would also expect Burren to go well if they could overcome Kilcoo (obviously a massive initial hurdle). Is Murdock gonna play much more GAA this season?

I can't see how Glen aren't waiting in the Ulster final anyhow. Some team.

In intermediate, I think the two best teams will meet in the first round. Whoever the Tyrone champions are v St Pat's Cullyhanna

Armaghs record at intermediate in the ulster club would suggest otherwise. 

Some really good ties in Senior championship with the standout being St Pauls v Culloville in intermediate.  Tir Na Nog, Cullyhanna and Pearse Og will be fancied to come through their games. 

Kileavey v Clan NaGael- should be an interesting game.  I haven't saw Kileavey this year, but with Tommy Coleman in charge and their scores to date they seem to be playing a more expansive game.  Clans should have won this game last year, but they will need Stefan Campbell to bring a big performance if they are to win. 

Madden v Ballymacnab- think the nab will shade this one, their forward line seems to be moving well its probably now or never for the nab giving age profile of some of their better players. 

Clann Eireann v Silverbridge- Silverbridge been scoring plenty of goals and after losing first day out have been very impressive.  Still think Clann Eireann are a better balanced team and will come through here. 

Cross v armagh harps - after seeing Harps yesterday can only see one winner wasn't impressed with them at all and they have had a poor championship to date.  Cross have the indian sign over them for quite some time and dont see that changing. 

A problem is expectations... Trappatoni and O'Neill got to tournaments with mediocre enough teams so this has now become the expectation when really it shouldn't be. It also highlights another thing - Kenny sets the team up to play football and those managers set us up to be hard to break down and to grind out games. The players aren't really there to make that gameplan happen against the better teams so I wouldn't suggest Kenny is a failure but if you want results rather than trying to build a footballing culture he maybe isn't the man for the job.

+1.  Ireland weren't even qualifying for every tournament during the golden era's of the 80s and 90s e.g. euro 92, euro 96 missed the boat and at that stage had players playing at high end premiership teams.

There were less spots then. In 1988, only 8 teams qualified so you had to win a difficult group, as Ireland did. It was still 8 in 1992 and Ireland were very unfortunate not to qualify. 24 teams will participate in Euro 24 and it looks like we'll be nowhere near being one of those teams. That's how far we have fallen. Granted with break up of Soviet, there's more teams too and technically the Eastern Europeans were always superior to Ireland. No shame in losing 2-0 to probably best team in world. But Kenny looks very lost and in his own world. A change should be made soon. Also if Ireland/Uk win Euro 28 bid, we should think about having a unified Irish team have automatic qualification. Will never happen of course.

Fair point in relation to how difficult it was to qualify.  Ireland have certainly been dealt a short straw in relation to the group with France and Dutch who are probably in a bracket of 6/7 teams that could genuinely win the thing.
