Quote from: LarryStiles on March 30, 2025, 04:49:09 PMAnother final defeat. How many All Ireland and league finals lost since 1989? kerry might as well bring on the subs to make a game of it.

Nearly sure they've won two recently. One against Kerry

Not great, first game (for what I saw) much better

Aggrieved is a bit strong, being put out or having to settle to watch the game on telly is the worst that's going to come out of this. No one will miss the game, compensation for those unlucky to not get is definitely needed, but the claim culture in modern society means people are aggrieved if someone gives them a compliment.

Anyone defending these muppets is as bad

Quote from: Wildweasel74 on March 30, 2025, 04:13:11 PMBit confused with that goal , should that kick not been going outside the big arc. Keeper trying to kick just to the small arc, need see it again.

The Mayo man was standing in the arc and Clifford hit to the ball before the Mayo man.

The Mayo keeper was trying to just take a short one, risky, I doubt he'll do it again

Cause someone (solicitor possibly) had mentioned to these 8, they (Ulster council) have broken (possibly) a contract and we could get some traction/attention/money outta this?

So money? As the game is televised

Quote from: Throw ball on March 30, 2025, 11:40:51 AMWhile my preference would always be for Antrim to get a home venue and as a season ticket holder from the start I would never be one of the 8 I find the embarrassing thing here is that so many have jumped on a poster who suggests a different view. What is the use of a forum if alternative views are treated this way?

Ok, talk me through this statement

I'm not 1 of the 8 but wish them every success.
As I've posted many times I've absolutely no time for the argument that the players had "a right" to a home game.

My only regret is that it will be the Association and not the players  who end up settling.

I've said it before but it bears repeating,  if Antrim had any chance of winning anything the players would not have been nearly as militant but throwing them out of the competition would have meant nothing.

Quote from: Milltown Row2 on March 29, 2025, 11:19:08 PMf**k me! Not one of the 8, well, go you.

Do we have the age thread poll that goes to 10 year olds?

Assume you refer to me.

Not many 10 year olds attended their first Armagh game in 1975.

Even more embarrassed for you

Embarrassing, even more embarrassing for a solicitor representing them for a £20 quid ticket, and the game on telly too!

I'll happily cough up £160 quid if they are stuck! Parasites

Like, have they really thought this through? Which solicitor has taken this on? Embarrassing

Quote from: armaghniac on March 28, 2025, 04:02:00 PMFirst-come first-served for Armagh season ticket holders. it doesn't say how many are available; 500 would be quite different from 2000.

I am aware that legal proceedings have been threatened if refunds on season tickets aren't offered. So things may change by next week.

Some miserable feckers out there, GAA ethos and community being stripped by people who have not got the best interests of GAA. Hopefully they go ahead with it and they'll been named too.

Quote from: Rossfan on March 28, 2025, 12:51:08 PMHow do you "reduce immigration" unless you *crash the economy to make the place unattractive?
Common travel with 65m Brits, Free movement among 27 EU Countries.
Can't stop people applying for asylum so that leaves work permits people.

In any normal business people would be rushing to fill a demand in a shortage.
Seems that supply/demand doesn't apply to housing.

* The thing in the White House might do that soon enough.

You don't crash the economy, you slow the growth of the economy to the extent that you can actually do it. There are an increasing number of work permits, only 5% of these are for people in the construction industry, this proportion might need to be 50%.

Why should it be 50%? Surely the locals who are complaining about their jobs being taken would jump at those job opportunities.. Ah, now

Quote from: Jell 0 Biafra on March 28, 2025, 12:33:32 PMI wouldn't assume Vance will be the candidate.  If Trump doesn't run again (he's not currently allowed to, but it's not like the law stops him), I'd say he's more likely to try to set his son up as the candidate than Vance.

I doubt Vance would have anything like the Trump aura.  Especially if they crash the economy again, as looks quite likely.

As for the Democrats, that Pritzker bloke from Illinois has been good in at least speaking out against Trump.  Pete Buttigieg too.  In fact, I think a lot of the current pile-on by Democrats regarding "signal-gate" is about Democrats looking to position themselves as potential front-runners.

Speaking out against Trump will only cement his type further and regardless of how the economy is going they'll vote with the Republicans again, even if it was Big Bird..

Probably best to mimic some of his views, confuse that type of voter. They are the type that the Jedi were able to manipulate  ;D so go on hard on emigration and housing and be less woke, who knows but this tariff thing if you had a business here is going to be a f**k up
