Watched a lot of football this year, the best footballer in down football this year is Connaire Harrison followed by Ryan O Hare of Ballymartin, who isn't even on down squad, and best refereeing performances have been by Ciaran Mooney of Rostrevor

Went to newry tonight saval put up an embarrassing performance against the town, longstone should have won the game in normal time, but lost their way in extra time, but was disgusted by clonduff official who ran up to umpire and got Michael Ireland sent off for shaking a defender off who was holding him, total disgrace, county should be embarrassed by this

Far too many rules in our game that are different for basically the same thing which causes a lot of confusion, like this if a kick out is too short it's a throw ball on the 20 meter line, but if a free kick, 45 or line ball is too short it's a free against you. Also with free's etc it's in rule that you only need to be 13m away before ball is kicked, therefore you could receive the ball closer, but a kick out the ball has too travel 13m, therefore similar scenarios but with different penalties, any wonder there's lots of confusion.

No it isn't. If advantage doesn't accrue, then you are brought back for the original foul. The very fact you are taking too many steps means you are not gaining a legal advantage.

If you foul while on an advantage be in throw ball, double bounce, over carry it's a free against you, FACT, this is a problem with lots of people not understanding the rules

You are wrong. Because the act of fouling is in itself not an advantage so the ref brings it back.

Edit. Apologies, you are 100% right. The referees handbook does indeed state that if a foul is committed by the team receiving the advantage, then advantage is cancelled and a free awarded AGAINST them. It doesn't make sense to me, but you are spot on. Apologies.

Lol, thanks I knew I was right but I don't agree with it either

It's absolutely rampant and has been for years. Easily the most abused rule in the game. I have great sympathy for defenders because it is practically impossible to stop an opponent if they're allowed to violate this rule. Players should use the ball or face the consequences. If gaelic football was refereed correctly it would be much better.

Referees need to understand that allowing advantage doesn't mean you allow 10-12 steps. Hand up for advantage, when they take too many steps bring it back for the free.

But if you take too many steps while playing an advantage it is then a free against you

The other thing I must state is I've been till two rgu matches this year, first against mayobridge where I stated about Kieran Trainor making brave calls, 2nite he was standing just above me, at the stone match, apparently he hasn't refereed since that game, surely this county can't b doing without a referee of his standard, why is he not refereeing?

Ventured to the rgu match tonight score line flattered Downpatrick with only a minute to go stone should have made it a draw but a missed chance and rgu went up the field and got a goal, finished up 6 up, but have to say rice made a lot of calls against the stone especially a goal against the stone with 10 minutes to go, think the stone diserved a draw st least, but when ur lucks out its out

Sure forget the rules, bully officials, Croke park is to blame for the lack of respect for match officials right from grass roots. Change rules to 1 game bans, sent of in league doesn't effect championship, appeal hearing getting overturned over something ridiculous, the list goes on and on, with the outcome being all through Ireland that instead of match officials commanding respect they are actually the dirt on the souls of everyone, managers, players, supporters even water carriers run onto field giving their opinions to referees, if the ref deals with it he's only making a fool of himself.

The sad thing is we shouldn't care about brexit or this and that, if we get a chance to free Ireland we need to take it and worry about things later, as Bobby said Ireland unfree shall never be at peace, so free Ireland and take it from there

This is what's so wrong with players discipline now, they commit a crime and get completely backed by the manager, instead of being told in no uncertain terms how they have let everyone down.

Simple really, plain sailing if you have a good tenant, nightmare if you have a bad one. My first tenant was great or so I thought, then house got raided for drugs, neighbours went ballistic and rightly so, I was public enemy no.1 for letting a dealer in, but I'd no idea. 2nd tenant another good one in terms of keeping house, good neighbour but had money problems, I need to say no more, 3rd one exact same as 2nd and luckily fourth one great, never hear from them, great young family and rent paid into account monthly no problems. Have the house 10 years and first six a nightmare last 4 plain sailing, apart from odd bit of maintenance
