Depends what you are after them for. If you have everything else in order i.e workout, recovery, nutrition, they may be good for a marginal gain. For the average Joe they probably aren't worth the money when there are other strategies to optomise recovery

Quote from: gallsman on March 15, 2024, 09:54:57 PMU20s win with a BP after a poor first half against Scotland but all to no avail as England come back from 21-5 down to win 45-31 away to France. If France had even tried to defend they'd have won comfortably. Terribly shoddy performance.

Ireland are now 14-1-0 in the last three years.
France were very sloppy towards the end and butchered good possession deep in England territory.

Regardless of the bad photoshop job that pic could have been taken anytime. They really do think the peasants are stupid.
I've seen a good theory that she's actually in a wheelchair and they've photoshopped her into that garden seat very poorly.

Should that not have been a double movement for last Welsh try?

England played well above the level expected from them and Ireland played well below the level expected from them and it still took a last minute drop kick to win it for England. It's probably the toughest place to go to and get a result against a team that didn't really have anything to lose. Some of the kicks from Crowley weren't up to the standard he has set in first 3 games but Ford also wasn't too hot either for England. Throw in a couple of HIA substitutions for your in form winger and his replacement it was always going to impact their game plan.

£308 million?
What happens now is either the government do pay up and make NI pay it back over a number of years or could we see some sort of private investor coming in to help it be built and possibly selling the naming rights to help fund it. Either way I think it will be built with the first option the more likely plot

How unlucky for Italy. A kick at goal to win a 6 nations game against France in France for the first time in their history. Ball falls off the tee with 15 seconds on shot clock meeaning the ball had to be reset and rushed and the ball comes off the post

I'd be thinking an electrolyte imbalance

Quote from: Hound on February 18, 2024, 03:25:50 PMWhy was Sean Kelly's point not allowed at the end?

Too many Tyrone lads turned down the chance to kick a point at the end. Can't expect the ref to allow play to keep going. Played an extra 45 seconds and the only stoppage that time could be added on for was a substitution

Out of interest, if the entire UK voted again today on Brexit knowing everything that we know now would it still be a narrow leave win. I'd probably back something closer to 55-60% win for Remain

Quote from: LC on February 12, 2024, 11:43:01 AMThinking of heading to Galway over Easter for a few days.

There is me, the missus plus 4 kids.

Any recommendations re hotels or self catering accommodation?
Been nearly 20 years since we went to Galway as kids but we stayed along the Salthill promenade and it was incredible. Think there is a few nice hotels along that stretch and its not far from the city centre itself. Think there is a swimming pool with slides etc, minigolf and fun fair in the area as well

Quote from: ardtole on February 10, 2024, 08:50:23 PMIn fairness there is a massive difference in winning the McCrory with the equivalent of Kerry and bringing Kilkeel single handedly to the final more suited to a Sligo.

Ordinarily I'd agree with you.

But Clarke weren't alone. It was a freakish time for St Louis football.

Over those couple of seasons he'd teammates of the calibre of James Colgan, Joe Ireland and Pete Fitzpatrick, three of the best players in Ireland for their age group.

Then Gavin Joyce, Eamon McConville, Hugh Magee, Gerard McCartan, who won AI minor medals in 2005.

Luke Howard was involved too, a fine player who I think played in an u21 Ai final.

And something in my head says the O'Reilly brothers were St Louis men too around that time.

Marty was fabulous.

But this wasn't just the Marty show.

Don't think Jamie was a St Louis player but Ben joined in 6th form the term after their 2nd macrory final loss I believe

Quote from: Blackandblue2 on February 05, 2024, 02:39:55 PMReal solid performance Saturday evening. Controlled and exciting moving forward. Defence organized themselves after a poor first 5 minutes. Be interesting to see what team is picked for Antrim. Thought everyone performed well and was a nice balance to the team. Great to see Mooney and Annett back, be some additions.

MacRory cup final week had me thinking of Mooney the other day, the best schools player I've ever seen. That's a brave statement but I haven't seen such a combination of size, skill, pace and power out of a 17/18 yo since. Done it for 2 years as well.

Marty Clarke taking Kilkeel to back to back finals would also be at the very top of that discussion
I thought that Clarke was the greatest macrory player I ever saw absolutely sensational.Year abbey beat them and won Hogan Kevin Dyas marked him and got a headlight, he was outstanding for abbey in their other games.was really unfortunate his career was cut short by injury.I think he scored 18 points one day for kilkeel in Herald cup  at fifth year.
He scored 1.16 out of Kilkeels 1.18 score in their treanor cup win. Then scored 7 out of their 1.9 in herald cup win

Quote from: DuffleKing on February 10, 2024, 07:41:00 AMHow can there be such a poor understanding of the advantage rule at this stage.

If the fouled player commits an offence within the time limit of the advantage then original foul is immediately enforced. People seem to think "advantage" is some sort of licence to kill - you still have to play within the rules of the game. I counted 10 steps and irrespective of whether you thought it was 9 or 8 it was an obvious over carry at first glance.
That's not my understanding of the rule.
I believe the advantage and original free are cancelled and a free is given for the second foul. A free out in this case.
You are correct

watched it again 6 steps from the bounce to kick.
You could probably take another look at it just to be sure. But its at least 7. Youtube lets you adjust playback speed so its easy to count them
