So let me get this right. Community Together Developments are about bringing together those from both sides who want social housing but wish to live in an integrated community rather that sectarian ghettoes. Ok so good work by the Housing Exec.
So you've just moved in to one such development to improve the upbringing of your kids, one just off the Ravenhill Road, traditionally Unionist and close to the loyalist Cregagh Road.
You awaken to find the development adorned with UVF flags. Media coverage quite rightly calls for such flags to be removed from your development. Then up rocks the newly elected DUP MP. The very MP whose dad just happened to be a leader of Ulster Resistance, an organisation who the government acknowledge imported 1000s of guns which the UDA and UVF used to kills 100s of innocent Catholics during the late 80s and 90s. Guns which have never been decommissioned. The very MP who, a few weeks before the flags went up, was endorsed by the UDA in her election campaign. That MP knocks your door and asks if you have any problem with the UVF flags.
Emma proudly proclaims to the media that she didn't find any widespread demand for the removal of the flags from the residents. Funny that.... 8)
You would have hoped that a younger breed of DUP candidates might have been a bit more inclusive and less bigoted than their predecessors but when it comes to Pengelly she is just a continuance of the McCauslands, Campbell's, Wilsons, Wells and Poots of this world. For a barrister she also comes across as not exactly the sharpest tool in the box, she has a severe case of foot in mouth syndrome and is all about self promotion which constantly appears to backfire on her.
And still Colm wouldn't consider a electoral pact to keep the likes of this from a seat

I'd keep that comment to yourself...
Didn't read the OP as it was too long so don't know what it's all about.
Just popping in to say I'd shag her no bother.
Have a nice evening

Well you are not the only one allegedly
When you consider the lack of housing in catholic areas and the fact that the Equality Commission is concerned that catholics are waiting twice as long on social housing you then see these flags in context. They are intended to keep catholics out of those areas, gerrymandering in an ethnic cleansing sort of way.
SF didn't offer the SDLP a pact for this constituency. They wanted pacts for FST and N Belfast and asked for them. They didn't want one for S Belfast as they were happy to see SDLP lose. They only possible winner other than SDLP was Little Pengelly.

The only difference with Cantrell Avenue and Global Crescent is that they are mixed housing areas inserted into strongly loyalist areas. This was a strange area to attempt to develop mixed housing. Any catholics moving into this development must have been lion hearted and would have been naive to believe that some of those in the surrounding area would be keen to see them walk away.
It is no excuse for the intimidation that is occurring but it should not be unexpected given the divided society in NI.

Nothing alleged about it... her husband must be a very forgiving sort after she went scurrying back to him when fella giving her a seeing to fucked off to Mexico on holidays and then dropped her like a ton of wood pellets after shacking up with some local bird and never came back. That's DUP family values for you, eh?

Jeffrey giving out about the use of the word dinosaur and sitting beside him is Jim "expenses" Shannon, a truer dinosaur there never was.
...being creationists, they don't even believe in dinosaurs.
...well, they do, but they believe they and humans co-existed.

Jim Shannon stopped me on Royal Avenue about 15 years ago and asked directions to the Ulster Hall. I thought it very ironic an arch bigot like Jimbo didn't know how to get to a venue where his hero Paisley and other unionist fuckwits used to regularly whip the scummery of loyalism into a frenzy. I pointed him in the opposite direction :P
