Just checked there, Mayo are 18/1 to win Sam.

Must be the highest odds since 2012?

Dublin are 8/11!

I would put them as 3rd favorite at 5s or 6s, personally.

Happy new year all !

I am happy to assist all users in creating this thread so they can direct all their hatred, jealousy, ignorance, misinformation, gossip and downplaying on the one thread for 2020.

Thank you Kerryforsams and Eire90 for another wonderful thread.
Mods please wake up, before this website becomes pure dung.

My 2 usernames on this board are TheGreatest and Thearistocrat. Happy for the mods to confirm and check IP addresses etc. The thread saves the hassle for all non Dublin posters to post all things Dublin in one place, saves having the board swamped with Dublin centric threads set up by non Dubs to get something off their chest! :)

Why do you need two usernames?
Split personality?

Lar, good to see your still following me around, Looking forward to hopefully another battle with Mayo this summer, just remember this thread when if you lose.

I wonder if he is talking about McGeeney? The question is how would he know regardless of who he is talking about? I'm fairly sure I know the answer to that one

Probably Horan!

Probably most definitely.

When i first came to the board i was the aristocrat, i I took a break from it and didn't post for awhile and when i went back to use it i couldn't recall my user details so created a new profile. Im being honest about it and happy for the moderators of this forum to confirm that i am not any other user by checking IP addresses and account details, my name is in my email so they they know who i am, I dont use the old one, just the current, Its not the biggest issue in the world today. A lot of posters use the multiple account slander remark as they dont like me because 1. Im a Dub, 2. call them out on their bullshit, ignorance and jealousy  and most importantly, 3, Im a nice guy. . . . .

ys there a limited number allowed on this thread  or can I get membership?

All non-Dubs are automatic members.

Thanks for the comments above, looking forward to positive contributions through 2020.

Re: The paid manager part of it.

Dublin have paid employees (Before you all start)

However a bit different here, i mentioned a current manager was getting 50/60 a year at a certain county and got lambasted.

Genuine question,  any ideas who this is. Football, no Championship silverware (implying maybe a league :)
My own opinion its Mayo or Tyrone, look to managers with no job and maybe one that has held on to it for too long.
Is it on the books and paying tax on  it?

Spillane in the Indo:

A bigger issue is that even in counties where the manager is not getting paid, he has assembled a very expensive back-room team, so the county board doesn't save anything. By the way, this time last year I revealed that one football manager was being paid €100,000.
So how did he get on?
Well, his team didn't win any championship silverware.
But he's back at the helm in 2020 with presumably the same package.
The take-home message from all the reaction I received last weekend was that somebody needs to cry halt.
Maybe the next GAA president, who will be elected in a couple of months, might be the man to save us all.

Some of ye're supporters showed their true colours trying to attack the Ref on Saturday.

2 or 3 of them did alright, not pleasant viewing. Seen 10 times worse though over the years.

GAA Discussion / Re: Next Decade of GAA Predictions
January 10, 2020, 01:50:29 PM
Dublin 4, Kerry 4, Galway 1, Mayo 1.

Was talking amongst my friends, Dessie Farrells tenure, what is success and what is failure over the next 3 years.

2/3 is a success
1/3 is satisfactory (:) )
0/3 failure.

The player i am looking for to most to seeing develop over the next few years is Ó Cofaigh Byrne.

Total devastation here, i said it here before, my biggest fear is the day Jim Gavins leaves the team.

The most important thing to remember, its not all about the winning, its the legacy and culture he leaves in place and the men he made. All future players will aspire to this era as the template.

The team still has the players to win a couple of more, however some slight cracks are appearing and who will also follow him in retirement.

My choice for successor is Cluxton.

Pass me a bucket! You only appear on here to crow about how great Dublin are (look at your username ffs) and to insult others.

It's like he's done media training and treats this as the media but got it all wrong  ;D

To be fair though I find some of the criticism of Gavin a bit harsh. Yes he has clear advantages but he is clearly an exceptional guy too. It will be very interesting to see how they follow up now. You would expect them to still dominate but how much so will tell us how good he is / was.

;) :D 8)

Ok it is about the winning and putting and keeping the rest of the country in their place, is that better for you.

I have see it on twitter but cant find it now.

Compared records of Gavin, Cody and O dywer over a 7 year period at the height of their dominance, Jim Gavin comes out on top.

Is the GPA Dublin centric?  I see Mark Vaughan (If you remember him) is on a scholarship, hes in his mid 30s and hasnt played since 2010 or so.

The GPA has benefits but they need to open up about structures, salaries, who gets what and where and why.
