Quote£20 million for Hargreaves, just after £20 mill on Carrick.

Ferdinand, and Ronney thats almost another £60 million. Van Der Sar, Ronaldo, Saha.

Geez lads I hope you aren't trying to buy the league?

There's a subtle difference - United have a lot of money to spend on players because they are a genuinely big club. Always have been and always will be. When Abramovich gets sick of throwing his dodgy money around on his latest toy Chelsea will head back to mediocrity they came from.

A point for United today and its a fantastic position. I've ben thinking for months that United will have to go to Stamford Bridge and get a point, if Chelsea don't drastically imrpove, we won't even need a point.

Armagh / Re: Armagh Club football & hurling

Miserable enough day and a miserable game. Was a bit disappointed in Armagh, St mary's were down to 14 men for most of the game and Armagh should have been a bit more clinical in putting them away. St Mary's were fairly limited. Thought Andy Mallon had a decent game and Paudie McCreesh was solid on his debut. In the forwards Stevie was quiet enough but still showed most of the limited quality on show. Got two good second half points. Swift was decent. I think we'll struggle in the forwards this year without Clarke and Brian Mallon, Stevie McDonnell might have to shoulder most of the burden of getting scores.

On another point, did anybody else think that charging £7stg was sticking the hand in a bit?

QuoteHis only contribution to the game was to clap as ONeill was shown the red card

Imagine. Shockin behaviour altogether. Be even worse if he done it in a big game. Say like an All Ireland final?

Funny enough I've taken to looking at foot.ie at lot at me lunchtimes (Gaaboard is blocked off at work). Its a decent site and the lads are very passionate about their sport. I've a lot of time for the Eircom League, went to a few Derry games this season and had a great time so will probably become a more regular activity. But the only thing that really gets to me about that site is the constant hatred directed to GAA. Utterly small minds for many of them.

A real decisive week it looks like. Chelsea got back to within 2 points after West Ham but haven't been good enough to capitalise. A lot of play is made of the fact that United have to go to Stamford bridge, the Emirates and Anfield but even if United only picked up 3 draws they'd still hold an advantage even if Chelsea were to keep winning. United will have to go Chelsea and take a point but unless there's a big change in fortunes that's all they'll have to do.

WALKING IN A FERGIE WONDERLAND

I'd definately prefer to win the Premiership this year than the CL, though both would be nice. It devalues winning the CL if you aren't Premiership champions as well. Liverpool won the CL in 05 but how can anybody really claim that they were the best team in Europe when they only finished 5th in England? And to paraphrase what Fergie said about Liverpool in the 90s, we need to knock Mourinho and Chelsea right off their f**king perch.

Hopefully Larsson will do well though its a real 'Glazer' signing and short term contracts for strikers in their mid 30s isn't exactly planning for the future. If United get Hargreaves and can get a point at Stamford Bridge, I think they've a great chance of winning the league. If that happens I'd say Fergie might well walk away.

1. Why your user name
Armagh Supporter as gaelige

2. Favourite all time game
Armagh v Kerry 2002

3. Favourite all time player from your county
K McGeeney

4. Favourite other poster on gaaboard.com.
Dunno rufus, benny and donagh are good Armagh posters. Maybe Hardy and Magpie as well.

5. Things you'd like to see change on the site.
Less people who are there to wind up others rather than put forward their own views/ support their own team

6. Player from another county you admire
B Coulter

7. Dual players. Should they be allowed do both (why/ why not)
Of course, fair play tot hem if they're willing to put the effort in

8. Dublin Hurling, IS there hope?
Has to be. 1 million people, so much potential

9. Best Moment of the year?
GAA wise, a bit of a damp squib, at push winning Ulster I suppose.

10. Worst moment of the year?
Second half v Kerry

11. Breasts or bum?
breasts

12. Breaking ball or park live?
breakin ball

13. (Situation) Cork v Meath (if from Meath Cavan V Dublin) in an All-ireland final. You have to shout for one or your head will explode. What do you do?
Meath. From an Armagh perspective if it was Tyrone v Down, probably Tyrone

14. DJ Or Eoin Kelly
DJ

15. What  your own county needs to do to win Sam next year?
Hope that age doesn't begin to catch up on McGrane and McGeeney, that McDonnell and Clarke are at their best and that the right players are picked in their best positions

16. How do you stop (legally, Meath lads) Kieran Donaghy
Make Francie a foot taller and play McGeeney as the 'sweeper'

17. Hopes for 2007.
To win Sam, I dunno how realistic that is but anything else won't set the pulse racing.

18. Who will win Sam in 2007
Armagh (I have an awful fear of bveing the pesimistic fecker who ends up taking the falk at the end of the season when the pessism was prooved wrong!)

19. Who will win Liam in 2007.
Galway

20. Your Gaaboard resolution for 2007.
To try to post more though I don't really think its possible since the sites blocked at work.

2002 - The Sligo game in Croke Park. Dessie Sloyan clean through and bounces the ball. The very firm turf means the ball goes higher than anticipated when bounced. In that second an Armagh defender comes across to cover. What was a goal scoring opportunity results in a fisted point. If it was a goal, Armagh were dead and buried. It was a point. A draw and we win the replay and the all-Ireland. Milimetres.

Some1 needs to make an executive decision on what to print on the tee shirts.

Im thinking something like

Fletchfest '06 on the front with a pic of the great man in action on the back with a slogan like 'lock up ur daughters, the fletch is in town' underneath

Them's good suggestions Stiffler. What we need tyhough is someone to take a chance on the t shirts and stick the money down and get the arrangements in order. I wouldn't be up for putting down all the money meself because if they don't go as well as we think all the loss is on one fella. We need a few to stick down the money, get t shirts prinmted and sell them. We should sell them at a wee bit of a profit so that there's less chance of money being lost and if there's a profit at the end of it, sure whoever all bought t shirts are meeting up before the concert, it can do as a drinks kitty.

Got the tickets yesterday. Best £13.50 I ever spent. If there's a GAAboard gatherin before Fletch I'd be up for it.

Anything further on the t shirts? Its the sort of thing there'd need to be a bit of movement on this week.
