ONeill

I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

Who knew Trent could hit them like that!
Fantastic strike.
When you think you're fucked you're only about 40% fucked.

Milltown Row2

Great goal , Liverpool started to play a bit after they scored! More goals in this game for both teams based on the first half

Main Street

Not a bad stadium for a village club, a real fans stadium.
That was a crazy free kick, hardly any altitude but bent beautifully to go inside the post, with the goalie nailed to his spot.

A village club owned by the billionaire owner of SAP - not that far of RB Leipzig

The club is majority owned by the fans, take that you scouser! :D
Hopp only owns 49%.
How much of Liverpool is owned by the fans?

Hopp's been a club member since his birth, it's all about the club, hardly resembles RBL.

QuoteHoffenheim's members have unanimously approved software billionaire Dietmar Hopp taking a majority voting share in the club. The village outfit thus becomes the third Bundesliga exception to the "50+1" rule.

Another lamentable step in the commercialization of the Bundesliga, or the inevitable acknowledgement of more than 350 million euros (currently $396 million) poured into village club Hoffenheim over the years?

On Monday, Hoffenheim's club members voted unanimously to allow benefactor Dietmar Hopp, the billionaire co-founder of software giant SAP, to assume a majority voting share in the Bundesliga side.

Most German sides are bound by a special rule, the "50+1" provision, stating that a voting majority should rest in control of the club itself. For years, Hopp had held a 49-percent voting stake in the side, which he helped propel through the German lower divisions and into the Bundesliga proper.

"As with any right, this comes with moral obligations attached," Hopp said on Monday, saying that the change would make it easier for him to continue to invest in the club's infrastructure and youth facilities. "Even after the takeover, an advisory body will continue to watch over the economic and sporting needs of TSG [Hoffenheim], so the responsibility of the management will not be affected."

Of Hoffenheim's 6,437 members, 384 were present for Monday's vote. Prior to the change, Hoffenheim had retained a 51-percent voting majority, despite having just 4 percent of the club's capital holdings, to Hopp's 96 percent

Opps my mistake,  are you from Tyrone?
That might explain the bitterness, the sensitivity issue and a long memory ;D

Still Hoff is nothing like RBL and its obvious commercial name, and it's way ahead of any EPL club in regard to fan participation and ownership. You'd swear Liverpool did not have a sugar daddy as do most EPL clubs have a single owner or one in the majority, with no fans ownership at all,  but you still have issues with Hoffenheim?  ;D

laoislad

Good result. Pity about conceding a goal but we rode our luck for a lot of that game.
Great atmosphere also. Hopefully they should have enough to put them away in the second leg. That defence will be ripped to shreds against the better teams though if we do make the group stages.

Orior

One of the luckiest wins ever.

1) Hoff should have scored their penalty
2) Liverpool opener was the fault of a Hoff defender who ducked
3) Liverpool second goal a fluke
4) Hoff missed a number of sitters near the end
